I recommend the pc mod New Threat. Makes FF7 harder without being retarded hard. Great balance. Made me really appreciate the materia system and going through the story a second time I actually love it.

The writing is mediocre at best. Story is pulp. Music is consistently good, what else would one expect from Uematsu.

I actually played VII last out of all the games in the mainline series because I was sick of hearing about it and the fanbase.
Game deserves all the attention it gets, aside from graphics everything about it was amazing. I'm surprised I enjoyed the gameplay as much as I did considering it didn't have the Job system.
It is the best FF7 with FF8 being a close second

Those huge kaiju mechs were pretty tough. The one that was in the desert was a nightmare to beat. I had to use some really jewish tactics to beat the guy after god knows how many tries. I think I used the 7777 trick?

It's a great game and definitely one of the best in its franchise, I would put it maybe in second place behind V but I'm a sucker for the job system.

I'll second this. The early game is a little too tedious because of a low amount of options against high HP and the extreme late game is a ridiculous grind against giant amounts of HP, but everything inbetween that is great.

Decided to finally play 'the best FF' as an adult.
Story is complete garbage.
The graphics, sound, text dialogue and turn based combat I could handle but god damn the script was a joke. Maybe something was lost in translation.
