Yeah. ACII was just the perfect sequel in terms of everything. Depending on what you want out of a game, Syndicate takes the classic AC formula and enhances almost everything. But Black Flag is a near perfect pirate game.

Unity was bad from a story standpoint. Every character was terrible, the fact that Arno steals memories from people and presents it as evidence to chase down a conspiracy is terrible, and Arno himself is basically just Ezio so he never gets a chance to shine at all.
From a gameplay perspective it's great though, my only complaints on that front outside of glitches are the fact that ammo is so disgustingly rare it makes guns worthless and the dual assassination being extremely finicky. Those mob missions can also get to be really annoying when you start needing 50 missions completed(Which takes like 10 hours) and you basically just end up getting extremely miniscule amounts of money.

I thought the memory stealing had something to do with the animus but that doesn't make sense because it directly progresses Arno's personal story. Rogue which was basically 4 but with a worse main character, next to no characterization for anyone, and a generally worse story. Islands are vastly improved and the Legendary Ship missions are way harder, but the Assassins hunting you mechanic was horrendous since you only got chased by grannies and every two feet you'd have to deal with a bunch of them which made traversing in cities so terrible you didn't want to go there, and they just hands you OP stuff like the dart rifle way too early.
Unity made vast improvements to the gameplay but it suffered from even more glitches than AC3 if you can believe it(Patches fixed most but not all of them since I got stuck in walls a few times and sunk into the floor a couple times) and the story and characters are completely unlikable. The collectibles inside houses are also a pain since there's so much lockpicking you need to do in comparison to any other game.
Haven't played Syndicate but the footage I've seen is way worse than Unity.
