Yes. But you won't make progress in the battle in the turn you use a consumable. You only make progress by attacking him. So if you use a consumable, try to use one that replenishes a lot of health.

It didn't take too long. My only problem was what few items I had were from the early parts of the run because the rest of it was piss easy and I didn't feel the need to stock up. I was considering seeing if I could walk back to some shops, but then I noticed that it was almost 1:1 the exact same attack order every time. The only difference being that some of the platforms would appear mixed up or whatever. After that it ended up only taking about 5 tries.
