Cid dying in FF6 was pretty hard to take as a kid, didn't realise he was savable at that point obviously.
>>
I easily tear up at stuff but not video games for some reason. Writing is usually just not good enough. Undertale made made it rain lightly in my room, I guess.

No

Emotional engagement of games is low for me. I've never cried at a videogame.

A movie, tv show, or book can make me cry. Not videogames though.

Actually to tell you the truth I've never gotten too emotional over a book. Certainly movies and TV shows though.

I never literally cried but I had tears forming in my eyes several times while having a gripping sensation in my stomach. This actually happens way too often because I get super infested in fiction, and I also sometimes feel emotional when watching something well crafted (this one is really hard to describe but it mostly happens with animated movies or cutscenes)
>>
>>344006681
Not him but if I get attached to a character and he dies, I cant stop myself. I fucking hate it but some are more emotional than others.

I'm sorry, but that is fucking stupid. I could understand it if it was a personal letter, such as something from a loved one, addressed to you either directly or indirectly, but a book/novel/whateverthefuck? No, fuck off. Nonsense.

Never really cried, though not because a game can't leave an emotional imprint on me: I just rarely ever cry period, I'm kinda stunned when it comes to expressing emotions.

Three games I really remember that got to me were:
>Silent Hill 2
>Pathologic
>Bastion

I think Homeworld, The Void, The Witcher, Cryostasis, The Longest Journey and many others deserve a fair mention...

>I'd love to hear the reasoning and logic behind this.
The ability to treat fictional and symbolically represented stories in an as-if-real mode is absolutely key human ability hugely contributing to our social intelligence and capability, as well as experience and knowledge transfer and diffusion. If a story is sufficiently believable and relevant to us, forming emotional responses akin to those we can build in real world allows us to internalize content and messages present in the work more efficiently and deeply. It's perfectly reasonable and logical to form emotional attachments and responses to fiction (provided the fiction is relevant and believable enough) regardless of the actual format of the medium.

People completely incapable of that are people mentally or emotionally stunned. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it sure as fuck isn't a good thing.

when i was a little faggot teenager i cried at halo 3's ending because i thought there was no more halo

little did i realize, once 343 was made, i didn't want any more halo.
>>
>>344008331
I didn't. I read about how emotional it was all over the internet and when I actually got to play it I felt nothing.
(I really didn't like the game, either. Had to force myself to play until the end.)
>>
Mass Effect 3 got my eyes all watery with the "leaving Earth" scene. I didn't expect to see a child die in a BioWare game, and the music really nailed the whole atmosphere.
Oddly, this did not happen when Mordin's, Thane's and Anderson's deaths.

Also, i think i almost cried after finiscing Flower. The Fantasia vibes where too much.

Spoilers for the conquest end of neptunia 2
When ram and rom( two little girls) break down and cry saying "I dont want to die" after they put on a brave face. YOUR killing them to save the world.
The conquest ending made me cry a few times, But I RAGED when the weapon I got for doing everything was the same model of the one I had BUT WORSE GOD DAMN STATS. I DID THAT SHIT FOR NOTHING. The one time I reget dlc being free.
>>
Didn't cry about the game though, I did because it made me realize even if I had time super powers to fix my fucked up life it would probably end up worse.

Anyways who needs a happy life when you have dank memes and crippling depression...

How can season 2 even compete?
>>
When FFX came out I was 11 and the ending made me weep a little, mainly because I was used to the love story having a happy ending in FF games rather than a sad one.

Other than that, I don't think a game has ever made me cry or even gotten me emotionally involved. When Crisis Core came out I was too old to take it seriously and found it a little overdone and corny.

There was a Neverwinter Nights module called Darkness over Daggerford that had a very tear-inducing moment. What's kind of unique about it is that your character can start crying, too. It's one of my favorite role-playing moments in games.

Most recent game that nearly brought me to tears was Zero Time Dilemma.

Can't remember the last game to push me right over the edge but it was probably a visual novel.

There was a scene in an old call of honor/cawadooty game where one of your squadmates who you're supposed to be attached to because they've been with you for every mission (I didnt even know his name) kicks open a door and gets shot 500 times by machine gun fire, in slow-mo.

I laughed so hard I cried. The fact that everyone was screaming out the guy's name when I had no idea who it was just made it funnier.
