I think he treated the story better than Amy might have, if UC2 and 3 are anything to go by. I quite enjoy those games, but they both were built around the setpieces the story had to find a way to conform too.
Think back on your experience with 4. How many huge setpieces stick out in your brain? The first two that leap out at me are that glorious convoy chase, and the destruction of the treasury tower.
They both feel a lot more like they were inserted into the story after it was written.
I quite like UC4's plot. I like that instead of the cliched "you left me in prison" angle Amy was going for, Sam has a forgiving but deceptive streak, and his motivations are excellently built. He spent 13 years in prison thinking about nothing but the treasure that go him there. His obsession is as justified as it can get. I think the only side of his lie that was handled poorly, was Nate's reaction. There should have been a little more elaboration on his anger with his brother for dragging him away form his life, before that moment that snaps him back into the reality that he can't lose Sam for a second time, begrudgingly chasing after him for a rescue, and making up in the end.
Sam is likable in how relatable he is. He's that scruffy brother or cousin or schoolmate that everyone has. Good natured but poor decision making.
I think it's a great send off. The ride is fun.
The graphics and animation are incredible.
The gameplay buttery smooth. I has a blast, and I still am in the MP.
I don't understand the meaning behind this easter egg. Is this about the fact that poles from Techland aren't developers of Dead Island 2?
