Does anyone have that thread saved where someone had built an entire civilization within terraria. I remember reading about how he had something like 25 000 characters and over 6000 hours played. When I first played the world seen in the picture, technology advanced too quick. I never really got to enjoy a dussin low tech swordsmen and wooden bowmen fighting over territory. The pre-modern age with guns came abit too early, and i didnt get to explore the King Arthur knight campaign or the pagan vikings expansion, before it was already Soviet-like-state vs Shady sands kingdom (its like america but run by italians, owned by royalty with 400hp and super weapons)
I have started a new world filled with Romans, arctic tribes, forest elves, irish people etc and just learning to make an anvil is a huge advancement. I want to play out tribal medieval warfare a long time before the modern age/future age arrives.
I just realize I will sink atleast 3 more years into this new world and its hard to get out of it, and I'm having an identity crisis and want to have children before it's too late. I cannot stop time and play through the entire world campaigns without aging drasticly. So much fun, but so much time will be sacrificed.

I'm writing down storylines, guilds, cults, quests, characters and events for a video game that will probably never see the light of day. I'm 5 large notepads in and do it every night.
Considering starting of easy by learning 3d modelling, and make a cheap marine vs alien game for about 2 bucks to put on steam, and gradually ease my way into producing video games.

I read alot of pages regarding history of the italian mafia, and watched alot of boardwalk empire + mafia movies while I created these characters.
They just happened to be good at gaining control over neighbourhoods, gun-business and real-estate so they became major players in the capitol city. Unfortunaly, black people united, after serving as mercenaries for the Blood Gulch, a foreign nation, they recieved weapon and financial aid (the blacks did) and started a war with italians which lead to Martial Law being declared and curfew.

Resource scarcity? Oh boy, my mouth just waters of the prospects. Anything from Mad Max, to a selected elite of Oligarchs hogging up the resources and a new slave class killing each other/dystopian nightmare.

This part is also interesting, if everyone works for pennies in a horrible abusive system, how do you get rich? Pioneering! It's like a battle of the minds finding out new revolutionairy ways to earn money. Wooden airplanes have been invented and will become the popular ways of transport, for a fee of course.

Yeah and it's built by ugly looking mudstone, because the founder and ruler (one of the first players in game, his savefile is from like 2010) decided its tradition. He still lives in an ugly mudhouse, but all his daughters and sons have OP-weapons so he is still in charge.

The Blood Gulch civilization is built on crimson. I use Tshock and /maxspawns 0 when I play so no enemies spawning unless I want them to.
The underworld hasnt been collonized with civilizations yet. Maybe one day all of the worlds free space is gone, and only rich people will live in the overworld.
There are a few cults, weirdos, and Necromancers guild living underground. Also "NPC ENEMIES", basicly terraria characters with beetle armor, or fish-suit that represent hostile civilizations, incase a peasant mines too far.

For those who don't realize, even though I like Ashkenastein and show him favor as I want to see his plan enacted, he still has to come up with a fully functioning practical plan & decision to become powerful. This means I will read up on basic banking methods that results in control and profit, at no point is he magicly given platinum coins or anything, he can even be robbed and killed by anyone who chooses to do so.
Matter of fact, his bank still hasnt gotten the Bailout bill by the government.
Whilst playing I saw real and incredible benefits of the concept of banking, it increased productivity by 1000%. No more did peasants have to mine slowly like slaves, dying often from lack of armor. They could take a bank-loan, buy full armor, good pickaxe, and the whole civilization flew into the next centioury.
I also saw what happened when everyone got in debt, with lack of prospectives, the economy became bogged down, nobody buying anything (thus couldnt pay back loan), and the government bailed out everyone with 15 platinum, and the economy was booming again, and people could pay back the debts. Interesting stuff that I like seeing.

the "NPC ENEMY" is specialized mobs controlled by me.
When a commoner wants to make money the most easy way, he either mine for metals underground (read: /maxspawns 10 aka mobs are active) i put all the other characters inside their house so they dont die.
Or they fight crimson spiders, and collect vertibraes for 25 silver a pop, which the company later use for spawn brain of cthulhu and earn alot of gold.
Npc's are only active during exploration, spelunking, but during regular activities because I would be swarmed with characters getting murdered before i can open the right windowed terraria. I still curse Redigit for the unstoppable slime rain even which ruins alot of the fun.

Keep writing it down, according to Matt & Trey parker, creativity dies after the age of 30 and you wont be able to recreate this. Stories like these are fit for books, movies and video games so keep them safe.
