I bought it for PS4 because of Storybook edition. I'm gonna get it for Vita too, eventually.
Of course everything looks a lot smaller on Vita screen. But If you want it for maximum comfy then get it for Vita.

I'd recommend grabbing a PS4 Storybook edition if you can still find one, the hardcover artbook is nice as shit.
The game looked beautiful on my PS4, and the framerate only got fucked if I spammed absurd amounts of attack potions at bosses/minibosses

I've been playing it pretty often on my Vita and there are drops on occasions of big particle effects but that's usually like when you kill someone or something so it actually kinda adds to the experience if you think a bout it a certain way

I have never encountered bad performance. The thing is that everytime you kill an enemy it creates a slowmotion effect, in vita or ps4, so a lot of people confuse that with a slowdown or bad framerate.

They do have really big tells but for some reason everytime I avoid one I'm ending up where the other is right about to attack. Maybe I'm still just too used to playing as Mercedes and flying around.

You oughta take advantage of Oswalds ability to warp around short distances. You can use that to get behind them.
You're probably already doing this but potions can really help. I liked juggling an enemy and then using Vile Rush while their in mid air.
Shine potions can help stun and give you openings to hit enemies. I found myself underestimating them when I was starting out.

The slowdown is real. Like others said it's noticeable during the airship battles. It's not a constant slowdown but it happens. Especially if you use Cornelius' tornado attack for some reason.

Oh no, you can't but I'd overload the enemy with cyclones, volcanoes and attack while that's going and then do all that stuff.
Ps4 and remote play on Vita. I play on tv during the day and vita when on bed.
