The game is choppy and buggy (especially in the menu) but it's still amazing. There are rarely annoying graphics glitches but you can just load an autosave and it'll fix it.

The Baron is cool. He's a super flawed character and you move through some interesting plotlines as you progress through that section of the game. I'd say Keira's parts are the best in Velen though.

Spells do have AOE, especially on high level. Igni for example becomes a exploding fireball and have much better reach than W3 igni.
Yrden is also actually stronger than w3 yrden, because it is guaranteed to stun targets that are caught during attack animation (you could land multiple hits on stunned targets)
And you could attempt whirl-like/group style actions by attacking enemies from medium distance while facing perdendicular (to the left I think) to them.

I was actually guessing that was the case. With how grandiose W3 is it makes sense to have complaints in all aspects, from how easy it is to down postions or how pulled out of the fight you feel or how so many of them feel samey. But it succeeded on so many other levels because the story and atmosphere are amazing and none of the quests feel like simple fetch quests. The Witcher contracts especially are so well done.

I think a lot of people miss the point about the Ciri decisions.
It's not about what the "right" thing to do is. It's about giving Ciri some hope and joy of continuing her fight. In the Witcher 3 she's basically suicidal because everyone has been treating her like shit her whole life.
Options like the Snowball fight are to remind her that there are people in the world who actually care and love her. That's why she thinks of it with the Battle of the White Frost, if she feels her last connection Geralt doesn't really care for her she gives up.
