Was about to give up on the second boss, it has some fucking retarded phases. Glad I beat it, because the third one was super fun. On the fourth right now, it's fairly easy until the very last phase, which is really annoying if you miss a dodge and get a blurry screen that fucks you up even more.
I think some fights do go on for way too long, specially if you're stuck on a certain boss phase, you're forced to go through all of the previous ones again and again.

While I typically hate hexagons and random glowing lights the 10 minute boss fight managed to be engaging the entire way through and the no-nonsense boss rush bullet hell sort of feel looks fun as hell. The Ost is fucking 10/10. Definitely gonna look into this game.

The game is fun enough, controls are tight, music is pretty decent. I could see a sequel building on the simple mechanics well, but being on the easy / short side for the price (£18 in the UK) it's not really great value for money. (Unless the next difficulty turns out to be a much bigger challenge)
The walk between areas is pointless too, I get they were trying to build atmosphere and all of that jazz, but pressing A and leaving it to autopilot to the next boss area for several minutes was really annoying. I hope you can skip it when I play through again on the next difficulty.
Also the final phase of the sniper boss pictured is fucking autistic and it sucks and I hate it, it's the only part I struggled on as someone completely unfamiliar with shmups of any kind.

Can someone explain what the hell is up with the story? I've reachedThe real final battle against the face computer that wants to assimilate a planet. From what I understood the MC is some kind of sci-fi Apocalypse Horseman made by an AI floating in the space. For some reason he got kidnapped by some "guardians" in order to save reality. However, he gets saved by The Voice (the guy with the rabbit head mask), which seems to know who he's. The Voice needs the MC in order to escape from the prison and make himself out of the way and reach the little girl he's holding his hand in a specific cutscene you unlock after the credits scene reaching a point. Who are the other guardians though? Why do they keep talking to him as if they are exactly like him?

Parrying is pretty easy if you're any good at hack n' slashes, yeah, but you take a lot of damage if you fuck it up. The cinematic stuff only happens if you get a heavy attack counter or a perfect parry, both of which were pretty rare.
How many games are there that have pulled the 'no enemies except bosses' shtick.
I absolutely get why some people wouldn't like it but I'm really into it.

The bosses change it up each phase and if you know exactly what you're doing, it's not hard to wipe through each phase really quickly. There's even a "Speedrun mode" if you beat Furier mode.

I'm pretty sure the story goes that Sam saw a trailer that acted as the show's pitch. He wanted to do it so bad that the creator, Sam, and Spike TV worked with Funimation to produce it.
The creator is a huge westaboo and hip-hop fan who is obsessed with drawing black features.

Playing this just now, shredded the tutorial boss in like 4 minutes no problem. Second boss fight is the most frustrating shit in the world. Who thought it was a good idea to give your dash and your parry fucking startup before they become active? Like so much of this game feels great and is super fun, but you have these TERRIBLE annoying defensive options that you need to rely on an it's so fucking infuriating. You make a game designed all about fast paced twitch action but then you give it a slow ass Dark Souls parry, what the fuck. I keep getting hit by these fucking shockwaves because I keep trying to dash through it at the last possible moment to ensure I actually get through it and the game is just like lol fuck you do it 6 frames faster you idiot what did you think this was, a JAPANESE action game? And that would be fine and dandy if they did not start shooting these fucking massive shockwaves that you need to space perfectly to get over, so now I have to figure out this stupid fucking startup timing to be able to get through the fucking fight.
I still really like this game don't get me wrong, but holy fucking shit it's like they looked at the tennants of proper SHMUP and action game design and then said fuck that and fuck you we know what works better despite the decades of experience saying this isn't how you should design a fast paced game.
