Vesperia is on sale for 3 dollars on 360 right now, should I really buy it? I've seen /v/ really likes it, but after a quick search on google images, the world just seems boring with nothing but plain green fields everywhere. Cast doesn't look too special either

Having played the first five or so hours half the characters in that image are some of the worst shitpiles I've seen. Can't pass judgement on fedoraman and the chick beside him but I can't imagine they're much better.

I've played the game and you're actually right, the game is overrated as fuck, i feel like it's because it's North Americans first Tales game.
I would suggest you to play Symphonia and The Abyss tho.

I personally loved it, Symphonia being my first game. I can't even go back to Symphonia anymore though, the EN voice acting is so god awful and the combat is very boring to me, game just feels too childish
Vesperia did have a pretty boring overworld, and fuck the flying controls, but it has a few interesting story elements, better gameplay (than Symphonia, although it's not too different, just tighter controls and more features) and more mature themes overall that make you cringe less than Symphonia. Don't worry though, you will still cringe no matter what tales game you play.
