What is Star Wars TOR if not just that, famie?
>>
Absolutely

It's the closest thing you'll get to VTMB2. I can't recommend the game enough.
>>
Shit, if it's half as fun as VtMB, I'm sold.

Are there still some players for the dungeons?
>>
>>343903018
It will do an excellent job. Story missions are super nice and riddles have a wide variety.

I dare you however to not use google to solve those.

Honestly, pretty great. About the time you hit the raid wall/buy dlc bs is when you'll be tired. Up to then it's pretty fun.

The investigation quests are awesome. Try not to use a walk through on them.

Yeah, that last quest in the mountains where you destroy the Ak'kab nest used to be murder. Can't get any help, all you can do is form a more creative skill build. I ended up getting the free crit from magic and something in the rifle tree to boost the damae of my hammer attacks just enough to manage a victory. But these days you can just run in to 5-6 enemies and mash your face on the keyboard.
But I'm still stuck on the desert. Now not because it's difficult without my friend, but because it's putting me to sleep. The urban areas are way more fun than wandering around between sand dunes fighting reskin zombies.

I'll shill this game every time is mentioned because I love it that much. It's comfy like those spooky investigation shows you watched as kid.

>>343906816
Well if you're just rushing to the endgame you're missing out on the experience. It's rewarding to finally pick out a detail from your surroundings or interpret a clue from a document
>>
>>343906816

Not mandatory. The only puzzle I couldn't beat without looking up the solution was the morse code one in the first zone. I'm pretty dumb too. Shouldn't be any problem for people with an iq of 160+ that frequent /v/ all the time.
>>
>>343906816
There are here and there some puzzles that go quite deep into shit you are might not into. Like bible, and shit.

Right at the beginning there was that frequenzy coding shit. If you have no idea how radio waves work and shit you can't do it without google.

Than again, most of the time google will lead you to a side where the solution is showed step by step, so you can decide how much help you need

Top tier.
>>
>>343908282
But you are not forced to use these MMO elements. Obviously you'll skip the dungeons, but they aren't where the game shines.
>>
>>343908440
But can I just skip all generic missions and just stick to the investigation ones?
>>
>>343908282
You only really have to group for people for dungeons. In fact, TSW is better experienced solo so you can take in the atmosphere.

>why is this still not a single player game ffs.
Because Funcom saw how Dreamfall got pirated and they didn't want to make another singleplayer game, apparently.
>>
>>343907373
Wait, how do I listen to Radio Free Gaia?
>>
>>343908606
The only missions you can't skip are the story missions. There's no reason to not do the generic missions though, some of them are quite fun, and sometimes the investigation missions are locked behind the generic ones.
>>
>>343908606
Yea you can. You'll have to do story missions to otho, but they are great anyway.
>>
>>343908226

funcom hires stage theater actors or something to do their voice acting, and it shows. As in, they actually put forth effort unlike the western voice actors like Carth "Looks Like He Wants To Talk" Onasi or David "I'M THE REAL SOLID SNAKE MSGV REEEEEEEEEEEEE" Hayter.

Mediocre as an MMORPG, but really great Conan game and Funcom knows their shit when it comes to lore and not treating the players with kid gloves.
>>
I'm going to start over on a new character. What are some overlooked weapons? I've done hammers/elements and rifle/chaos in the past.
Also what's the secret to dungeons. Last time I didn't feel very useful even though I was finding equipment weaker than what I had.
>>
>>343908606
All missions are repeatable after a cooldown so, sure I guess. But you can have multiple types of missions on you, so to speak, so you do them along the way.

Thing is, there are very few generic missions. Even the most basic side quests which would be "gather 10 boar tusks" in other games are great. Same thing for dungeons: they are all specific locations with a backstory like a mad german scientist doing some experiments or an AI that has travelled through time and space and keeps talking about dreams.

On the other hand, the number of missions is lower than in most other MMOs.

This is one of these games where it would be a damned if you do damned if you don't if it got a sequel.
For one part it would probably appeal to a wider audience to get more people than the first game did.
For the other if they didn't it would be a flop and have almost no dungeons/raids like this one is.
It would have been GOAT with more people developing for it.

Literally *teleports behind you* story and messages where they are oh so smart and one step ahead of everyone.
The characters include mystery golden child with 0 personality and le ebin joker man
Awful faction.

Also, this fucking disaster is an official dragon character:
>Akma is that most rare and despised of creatures: half human, half demon. While most of his kin are born of violence and bloodshed, Akma was born of love. His human mother and demon father were building a life that was violently and tragically curtailed by fanatics who saw Akma’s parents as race traitors. His home burned to the ground, young Akma fled into the wildnerness, alone and afraid.
>Caught between two worlds, accepted by neither, the orphaned Akma was captured by slavers and sold to a Mongol warlord. At first, he was a trophy, a lucky charm for a conquering army, but as he grew into a young man his powers manifested and his strength became evident. The khan made him a soldier, and eventually a leader of men; feared because of his heritage and demonic left hand, respected for his courage and bravery. He led the khan’s armies to many bloody victories.

Thank god he only appears in a single cutscene but he pretty much signifies the fanbase and faction.

I really liked it, the investigation quests are amazing, the regular quests are meh, combat is pretty annoying, though the fact that you can build your character in any way you want it neat. The one thing I disliked is the quick travel system using that dumb tree-roots thing, it just takes too long to run around there, so people try to strategically fall down and often do so to their death, a mess really

I did drop it eventually in what I think was Romania, it felt like the weakest part of the game, I'll eventually go back to it though its a very good game. Just make sure to pick one of the RP servers they are more populated, I made a mistake and ended up on one that is pretty much dead
>>
Is there a significant difference in factions? Or is the story the same and they only have an effect on little things here and there?

best singleplayer mmos are ESO and SWTOR
ESO is god tier if youre a huge fan of skyrim, by far
SWTOR is good if youre a fan of KOTOR
>>

The main quest storyline is the same, but the people who send you on them are different. That is, there's different starting and ending cinematics for each major plot, as well as the storylines that pop up between each zone.

I dont think so, the only hard one was the one where you had to listen to morse code, I am a complete retard when it comes to a sense of rhythm so I couldn't make any sense of it, oh and the one with music in Transylvania, fuck that one

you can always just skip the ones you dont get, at least there is nothing quite as dumb as some of the quests I've seen in actual puzzle games like Siberia and such

Considering Funcom, that's fairly innovative, sadly. Though some of the bosses in Anarchy Online take more effort than what I've seen in TSW.

>>
>>343918624
BB aren't obsolete, you need them to gear still.

There's a currency called Marks of the Pantheon, they have a weekly cap. You need those for 10.5 and above gear, do challenges to get them. Beyond that, I'm not sure, I'm still working on gearing to 10.4 myself. If you want a free 10.9 neck though, buy the Park, it comes with a pretty nice set of them.

What's average effusion rating? In my stats it shows 96
Fuck it's so confusing. Everyone is farming some event bosses, that museum shit (seems just like more farm to do), even more clusterfuck in agartha.
It's going to be another annual "back for an hour and forget it for half a year" TSW comeback, isn't it.
>>
>>343921483
Calm down anon, one step at a time.

The event bosses drop cosmetic stuff and mini-pets, and are a decent source of AP and SP. The museum you shouldn't worry about unless you've capped your skill wheel, and the infusions from scenarios. It's just a grind for people at end-game.

As far as effusion rating, I couldn't tell you. Try /chat join event and meet up on the people who call out the golems, get some kills in, get used to the game again. You'll find something to do.
>>
The last time I played was when the Venetian simulator missions were the end game. I probably missed a bunch of stuff. Do you still have to do those things because they were boring as hell and why I stopped playing.
>>
>>343922275
You don't have to do them, but the drops they give are worthwhile.
>>
Should I play it now or wait for singleplayer version?
>>
>>343921483

effusion rating is who fucking cares, is what it is

basically it was supposed to be a rating for the sum total of your gear. the stronger/better your gear, the higher your effusion rating is. Funcom MIGHT'VE been thinking about tying dungeons/raids into 'suggested' and mandatory effusion ratings, but no. (Kaidan's raids are locked into absurd, extreme AEGIS values and completely fucked because of it)

There is a built in browser with an normal ass connection to the normal ass internet, that's right. At the beginning you could also watch porn on it, but i think they somehow stopped that.

TSW went so far to create "fake" websites that you have to research through some of those quests.

>that fucking Amusement Park quest chain

that place was fucking spooky

and then you got the Vanishing Quest where things got REALLY fucking weird
>>
>>343923712
It's got pretty good writing and the environments can be comfy. The combat is somewhat lackluster, but the fact that you can mix and match abilities to make custom builds is pretty fun.

It's buy to play, like guild wars, but they charge for issues, which are needed to continue the main story, and can be worth it.
>>
>>343919960

im br too and im interessed in the game, my problem is spending 100 temers + subscription

free to play when?
>>
>>343923774
I think some of the neater things with the game is how some of the quests could be pretty weird with their solutions

like one that actually requires you to die so you can get to an area that you couldn't normally go to to get a secret code to then interact with some other things you couldn't normally interact with

I think it was in the town that was fending off zombies
>>
>>343924048

>>

>>
>>343924116
Should be the "starter" zone, Solomon Island. Yeah there is a code in a cell you can't get in on normal way.

Actually not the only quests where you have to kill yourself in order to solve it.
>>
Is it worth it to get the complete edition?
>>
>>343924176
I think the main difficult part with that was with the cthulhu wolf things but then once you entered The Fog it was more manageable.

Damn the stories in each of the areas were pretty interesting...to bad they will never be finished (or have they been? I haven't played it in a long time)

Same thing with the main story and the "choices" did they ever do anything with that? Something about how they would track the choices people made up till the end of the original stop point and then something would happen based on the majority?
>>
It's buy2play and no sub necessary after that, but there is an optional subscription model that gives you perks. fast cooldowns on missions timers, a higher cap on your endgame currencies (and bonus BB currency whenever you get some), free fast travel, funcom store funbux. maybe other stuff i forget about.
>>
>>343924443
Those storylines got completed a few months ago, same with your choices.
>>
>>343924443
Yes, they did. But to find out, you'll need issues #9, 10, and 11.
>>
>>343924550
Really? So they went into what happened with The Witch who swipes the super sword causing all the bullshit at the end of the first area story chain?

How did they manage the choices and were there any more after them?
>>
>>343924443
>I think the main difficult part with that was with the cthulhu wolf things
I never got post that part where you go to an open area and then a bunch of lights go off and a swarm of enemies attacks you, dont remember the specifics because its been at least 1 year maybe even 2 since I played it last
>>
>>343924952
Yeah that's the part and then you fight the alpha wolf or something (or was it protecting him I forget?) Anyway those parts with the wolves were a bitch

but damn the part with the fog was so great. Fighting corrupted versions of all the quest givers and people in town who talk to you all creepily and then you go through some wacky shit like the infinite hallway and evil version of town. Then this weird voice talking to you the entire time
>>
>>343924681
They haven't done anything with the Witch, they may be holding onto that for a while still. I'd like to see that loose end tied and concluded, personally.
>>
