I'll never understand why you retards always get hyped over games. I don't pay any attention to previews or trailers. I'm never let down because I have no expectations.

Sure some games are still shit and I of upcoming games, but what's the point of obsessing over every little detail of a game before it's out? I know Bannerlord is coming out (supposedly). I don't need to know what features they're touting because it might come out and those features will be half-baked garbage.

Give me one good reason why I should give two fucks about "previews" or gaming "news.
>>
Should feel good OP. You didnt get sucked into the culture made by big business.
>>
Are you that 53 year old that said the same thing before? Hope about I give you a good reason to commit suicide instead?

How*

I'm off to bed.

You shouldn't. If you want to be a boring buzzkill then you are free to do so.

Being excited for things can be fun.
>>
How are you even able to decide what games you want if you never watch anything on it?

I agree with you, Hype culture is anti-consumer garbage made to keep potential customers in a state of excitement while keeping them in the dark at the same time.
A good example would be Fallout 4. All bethesda had to do was show off some iconic imagery and some cherrypicked footage to get hordes of people interested in that shitshow, buying off reviews from the bigger sites like IGN and Kotaku while keeping any negative reviews out of sight with threats of never getting another review copy until its far too late for people to see them.
"""Gamers""" are basically battered housewives at this point, always getting fucked yet coming back for more
>>

Who said I never watch anything on them? Once they're out I look them up to see if they seem interesting. Maybe I'm some kind of special faggot, but I can tell from a 5 minute gameplay video if I'll enjoy a game or not.

I feel the same way OP. Being cynical is my first defense against bad purchases. Incidentally I think Kickstarter is the most maddening thing to happen since microtransactions.

My friends are always going muh reviews from other people therefore the game I bought is good huehuehue kind of attitude. He always links me to reviews that I don't give a fuck about. It gets really aggravating.

Like woopy doo Projared like the game therefore the game is obviously great and amazing and can't wait for it kind of attitude. I learned to just say, oh this is a nice announcement and i'll take note of it in my head and that's it. It has made me enjoyed tons of games that were flaked by people who keep spewing out flaws.

There have been good kickstarter games. There have been bad kickstarter games. No different than retail. That said, I've never donated or been on kickstarter.
>>
>>343862852
Yeah but there's a bigger risk for disappointment. Same could be said for people that preorder.
>>
>>343862852
Kickstarter actually shipped a game?
>>
>>343861992
Well that makes sense; In all reality that's probably the best attitude to have in this day and age and with this industry.

I'll get hyped over VR porn though. Make way for the future, baby.

>I'll get hyped over VR porn though.

Porn is the only thing I'm excited about VR for. Teledildonics will change the world as we know it.

video games are the most fun part of my life
>>
>>343860612
I'm in kind of the same boat at this point, I had practically zero expectations or foreknowledge for most of my favorite games from the past 5 years before playing them and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed them nearly as much if I watched trailers and all that other horseshit for them

Trailers are just terrible, ultimately they just spoil things that are best experienced by playing the game blind and set expectations that the game might not meet at all

>>343860612
Because I'm developing/preparing the Elder Scrolls mod for Bannerlord so I can claim all the glory.
