ITT: "Oh yeah, that happened."
Fucker everyone remembers this version, a lot even played it. And I see this all the damn time. is it just bait by this point?
I hate that game.
>>343842420
I liked it.

It was also on PC but I wasn't able to get it to run.

HL1 Dreamcast
Crazy Taxi GBA
>>343846290
Did HL actually come out on Dreamcast? There were a lot of games planned for it that never came out like Thief 1 and 2 and System Shock 2.
Not sure if this is official box art or not.
>>343846604
It never officially came out but you can download it now. Its controls are shit but I like how it draws the lambda on the controller
>>343846604
There is a leak of it and it runs absolutely fine. It has a bug where the save starts to take up more space than you can have with a VMU but I hear it was finished otherwise and I managed to get through about 6 hours of it without issue. Another fun one is Propeller Arena which was completely finished and has a leak as well. I do not believe there are any versions of Thief or SS2 available and I used to be pretty big in the Dreamcast scene.
>>343846604
The Dreamcast port was cancelled and it was converted into the PS2 version while the extra content for it became part of blue shift.

propeller arena is great, It's by AM2 so that's a given

this game has the best gameboy advance graphics and it is not debatable at all
They were milking this franchise so much they even released greatest hits within the game itself. It's so weird how such a huge game like GH took a nosedive to obscurity within a couple months.
The Xbox version was the first time I played HL2. It was bretty gud actually. Not the worst port.

I remember playing the demo of this. Then immediately wishing my computer at the time was good enough to run it.
Hell, I remember quitting the first game on my PC and having to go do something else for 30 minutes while the desktop loaded.
It was better on XBOX than PC
>>343845767
Fucking amazing idea by rockstar making Max Payne isometric
>>343850960
I actually really liked this and it, and Tiberium Wars, worked surprisingly well. Although that Croatia mission in the latter where you have to defend the base was essentially impossible on console.
Billy hatcher was on PC
In a similar vein, HL1 on the PS2. Actually not a terrible port, you can hook up KB+M through USB. Biggest problem is the framerate drops horribly in combat.
This is the true answer. I think I forgot this game came out in less than a month.
What were they thinking?
>>343851131
Nope. It's surprising it runs at all on the Xbox. You have to play with a controller and it's bottom of the barrel graphics and performance. I don't think anything was cut though. It's still inferior in every way compared to the PC version.

Great graphics for the system, top down isometric shooters are awesome and they even managed to fit in a lot of the voice acting.
The fact that a psp version of oblivion ever made it past conceptual stages
>>343842420
It was honestly a technical achievement this port even happened. It looked like the PC equivalent of pretty much all low and still had frame drops but it was amazing they got it to run on any of the consoles at the time.
>>343850875
They were probably just shoehorning that in because it was the only console it was released on. PC being treated as not a console of course.

Indeed. Especially when you consider even the PS3 version had some problems running the game, with the 360 version at least running it decently on medium-ish settings.

No it's not. I can tell you've never played the console version or vanilla. The console version is filled to the brim with glitches and exploits. You can even bring up the console and start spawning shit. Shit's unplayable.
>>343853701

The 64DD, colloquially referred to as the Nintendo 64DD, is a magnetic disk drive peripheral for the Nintendo 64 game console developed by Nintendo. It was originally announced in 1995, prior to the Nintendo 64's 1996 launch, and after numerous delays was finally released only in Japan on December 1, 1999. Only ten software titles were released until the unit was discontinued in February 2001. It was a commercial failure, with at least 15,000 total units sold and another 85,000 units unsold.

The PC version has a key that holding it emulates a soft button press for the next button you press. So if you hold the button and hold the fire key for your pistol he'll hold the pistol out to aim and then you can let go of the fire key and he'll lower the gun. It's the same system the Xbox versions of the game (and 3) use. I wasn't able to get it to work with other weapons like the assault rifle or sniper rifle but then again I didn't really try too hard so it still might work.
There's also a movement speed modifier so you can walk if you for some reason want to play with a keyboard.

Yeah, that's the only argument that autists have about MP3 somehow being bad compared to the earlier ones.
Was the experience of 1 and 2 really all that heightened because you had the ability to skip the comic panel sequences and completely disregard the narrative? 3 even had a mode where you could just jump into the action without the cutscenes.

Street Fighter Alpha is so fucking weird. Everyone says Alpha 2 is the definitive game which makes no sense in terms of other Capcom fighters. Then you have shit like this where they just keep adding characters and updating shit on ports nobody will ever fucking play. I seriously wish Capcom would release "Street Fighter Alpha: Play this Fucking Version you Faggots" already.

>>343862532

>>343863684
At least Dead Space 3 was still fun, even if it lost every bit of atmosphere from the first 2 games.
>>343863647
Apparently this was pretty good. I consider myself a pretty big fan of Nifflas, but it seems his recent games are a bit underdeveloped, which is kind of ironic since the Knytt and Within a Deep Forest games are very minimalist and very enjoyable for it.
Gotta give him cred for being creative though.
>>343859538
This was the only version I had when I was a kid. Was it bad?
>>343862514
Elder Scrolls spin-offs aren't much better than the main games, but I wish Bethesda still did them.

But most people's enjoyment comes from the online and the mods, which only the PC had.
>>343864000

>>343864000
Wasn't it just Sonic 1 assets pasted over Sonic Advance's engine? Nice trips btw.
Now this on the other hand is actually a pretty decent handheld version of Sonic. It's the only way I've played S3&K since I never had S&K as a kid and the PS3 Sonic Genesis collection doesn't have it.
>>343864221
It's just not as fun as I hoped it was. Especially since some of the later game is BS with how much you have to tilt to not make sensors go off.
>>343864448
This one slows down really hard on the DS tho. According to people, playing it on a DSi or 3DS is better since the game doesn't slow down as much on them.
>>343864365
Yeah, Knytt Underground was great. It had some flaws, like the story and awful character art, but the game itself was such a brilliant blend of the two best Nifflas games. It was basically perfect.
Also, the fucking throwbacks to Within a Deep Forest were great.

Here's an easy guide to Alpha:
>SFA (Arcade, CPS2)
Unbalanced mess. Literally retconned out of existance.
>SFA (Arcade, CPS1)
Technologically inferior version of the CPS2 version. A marvel that they even got it to run this well.
>SFA (PS1)
It's SFA for PS1. Even worse than the arcade version.
>SFA (Saturn)
Good port of a bad game.
>SFA2 (Arcade)
Best Alpha title for competitive play. A bit on the unbalanced side, but fun as fuck. Story wise, this replaces Alpha.
>SFA2 (PS1)
So-So port of A2.
>SFA2 (Saturn)
Great port of SFA2
>SFA2 (Dreamcast)
Perfect port of SFA2
>SFA2 Gold (All Versions)
SFA2, but with fixed glitches and Cammy. Suprisingly, this is worse and less balanced than vanilla SF2 for advanced players.
>SFA3 (Arcade)
Broken, overpowered mess. Fun for casual play tho, as it has a huge roster.
>SFA3 (Dreamcast)
Perfect port of A3, with a ton of additional characters
>SFA3 (PS1)
Shitty version of the Dreamcast port
>SFA3 Upper (Arcade)
Arcade version of Dreamcast port
>SFA3 Double Upper (GBA)
Shitty port with a weird roster. Only 4 buttons.
>SFA3 MAX (PSP)
Good PSP port of Alpha 3. Adds more (non canon) characters.
>SFA Collection (PS2)
Best Alpha game. Includes all arcade versions of Alpha 1, 2, 3, a new Alpha remix, and to top it off, Pocket Fighter, a casual Street Fighter spinoff.
Alpha Anthology is the way to go, followed by Alpha 2 if you're a serious player, or Alpha 3 MAX if you're a casual.

I fell for the fuckin Master Chief Collection meme
>>an anthology for the price of one game that's pretty good
>multiplayer is unusable
>>I can go play the story mode since I never actually played after the first
>halo single player is absolutely shit
>the only thing that made Halo 2/3 good was multiplayer
fucking hell

And controller controls are arguably better with 1 and 3.
>>343877648
Setting up the controller to make a kickass config is almost as fun as playing games on it. I love my steam controller. Lemme ask you, how long is your battery life on it? I've had mine for two months and haven't switched batteries yet. I play like 20 hours a week, maybe more with just using it to browse shit.

Remember the demo disc I got that had the first demo for this, played it like crazy. Was a whole new world in terms of 3D exploration.

Couldn't get my copy working for the longest time. It crashes because of an issue with realtek (or whatever the other popular onboard sound company at the time was) hardware. Figured out if I disabled my sound I could play it but who wants to do that. So I start thinking I should get an external sound processing device but was too poor at the time to afford one. By accident realize that windows device manager is picking up my 360 controller as a sound device. Then it dawns on me that I can maybe run the sound through it and it's shitty xbox live mono headset. It actually fucking works and I play through the whole stupid game that way.

I haven't had to swap out my batteries yet so idk. Just got it the other week.

mgs2, i know, but sh2? why is it better on xbox? don't have it
>>343854056
MGS2 was one of the few games better on PS2 than Xbox.
>>343858548

WAKE ME UP

The game is called Normality. The whole game is about this dude who lives in a city controlled by the "normies". It even has a Chad reference.

Violet Berlin starred in it
I thought this was a remake of the original until that Rare classics collection came out and I realised it's actually a prequel.
>>343884040
no offense but how old are you man?
>>343871918
Probably didn't bother even trying to fucking optimize it. Valve can be cunts.

I've bought the XBOX version because my PC couldn't run it at all back then. Hey, back then, console games are an instant pop into the machine and play with no need for installation unlike today's next gen consoles.
>let's see if there's still animo for a follow up game
>by releasing the previous game again
>>343859538
Played the shit out of it
Menus are better than on PC
Having all that console stuff was actually pretty cozy.
Of course, you're limited to 2 players splitscreen and no mods and shittier graphics.

how
>>343871132
I still kinda enjoy this game unironically in single player despite the braindead AI.
I think much more online FPSes could use this kind of SSX 3-esque character customization.
