They replaced the writer from the previous games and never bothered with the ending he originally intended. The new writer isn't as good and none of the new characters are bad or not as fleshed out as the old ones were. Most old characters get fuck all screen time. There's a bunch of shit with your choices not mattering, like if you melted the Rachni Queen in 1 they bullshit another back to life or if you saved Samara's daughter you never see her and she dies offscreen. Also TIM goes from a kind of antihero to full retard cartoon villain.
