I heard about this game. Isn't it really weird to play and kinda broken? My understanding is that everyone has screen length attacks, or something near that? Plus there's some weird grid system, or something.

The game isnt broken. There are a few characters with screen length attacks but are punishable.

Gimmick is basically what the newest Blazblue is essentially borrowing. There's a bar in the middle-bottom portion that shows who has the "advantage" in the match and whoever has it can cancel unsafe moves/specials.
