Eye of the Beholder is a great D&D dungeon crawler that is similar to Might and Magic. There are quite a few versions, but the Sega CD one has really bizarre but cool soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro. It doesn't really fit the game, but it makes for a unique experience. That version also has pretty smooth gameplay compared to the others. That or the original DOS version is probably your best bet.

Go to another area. I think I know what part you're talking about and the mushroom guys are a pain in the ass until you gear up your dudes to deal with them faster. I got poisoned to death like 10 times on the bossfight with tons of them because of bad positioning and tactics.

It's extremely OP. Especially once you max it and can craft 3 bombs at a time. The ingredient you need for bombs can be regrown too.
