What is the damage /v/?

Less than 20 quid. I got Tropico 5, and a bunch of EU4 and CK2 DLCs.

Less money than a night out and I already enjoyed about 3 hours of Tropico, so I got my money's worth.
>>
FUCK I am REALLY upset at Steam right now.

Why the fuck can the client not handle having more than 20 things in your cart at once? And if they're bundles, you are super fucked, have fun trying to check out with 5 bundles in your cart cause the client will fucking hang!

I couldn't even buy everything on my list because I had to individually take each thing out and then click it on my wishlist, then view store page, then add to cart a million fucking times

YES, I AM FUCKING MAD, FUCK YOU GABE I CAN'T EVEN SPEND MY MONEY ON THE SALE
>>
$224 USD. I feel sick.
>>
>>343781562
why would you wait to the last second of a sale that lasted over a week you retard
>>
>>343781562
Why did you want until the final 10 mins then?
>>
>>343781482
Yes, with the added supply chain management.
>>
About $7.50 total.

I think I did not too bad. This sale was better than last years imo
>>
I have more money in my Steam wallet than I had before the sale.

I bought VtM: Bloodlines, and refunded atleast 10 game cause all of them were shit. Waiting for my refunds to go trough so I can put it towards a Denuvo protected game like Doom or some shit. This sale made me realise that buying games is for cucks.

>want to try game out
>buy it
>it's fucking shit, who woulda thunk it
>have to beg Valve for refund and wait for a day to get the money back

PC gaming is such a fucking meme holy crap.
>>
>>343781673
>>343781674
Because I typically slowly assess what's on sale and add to cart and then buy it all on the last day, that's what the previous sales have conditioned me to do.

Plus I was waiting for my friends to get back to me with what they wanted

I started with this bullshit cart fuckery 4 hours ago, it takes fucking years
>>
>>343781835
oh and I regret the Bloodlines purchase too, the game is actually pretty shit. /v/ meme'd me hard. I mean, the characters and setting are fucking great, but the gameplay is atrocious and worse than any HL mod made by one guy.

I still beat it in like 2 days though.

I feel a tad bit sick as well. I spent a little over $100. I'll be okay until next paycheck, though.
>>

It's that bullshit frame bug on the purchase page, where it bundles up all the shit in little infinite frames that takes minutes to render, it's fucked if there's more than 20 things
>>

Cradle
Doom

>refunded
Stories- it decided to switch it's resolution on it's own after my first play session to something my monitor doesn't support. There is no .ini and none or the normal ways to for resolution/windows mode work and despite there being multiple threads about the issue the devs only response has been "use the in game menu".
Surprisingly my refund went through super fast(24 hours) and I used the money to buy Underrail
>>
>people waited half a year to buy some games at 30% off

Yeah I can afford it too. Just feels wrong spending all that money on Gaben's breakfast instead of starving children or something.
>>
>>343782379
And now I have to wait 6 more fucking months to get fucked by the cart bug again, and my wishlist is still 150+, I at least got my mates their games and 100+ish for myself
>>
>>343782379
I don't think people hold off buying games they really want to play. It's more along the lines of .. hey, look, this game's 50% off and I remember people saying it was quite good - might as well try it.

The sale lasted a week and a half, and we knew since before day 1 that there would be no flash sales or price changes. If you waited until it was too late, that isn't Gaben's fault. I purchased carts full of games multiple times, on days 1, 2, 4, and one final game yesterday. No problems on my end, outside of the slowdown day 1.

Manage to keep my expences under $50 from a $100 budget, even though my wishlist had over $300 in games.
Not sure if it's just an impression, but the discounts this summer were a bit underwhelming.
>>
I think I spent about twenty, maybe thirty.

Honestly, without the dailies and the community voting, there was little reason to wade through the massive amount of shovel ware to find gems. I got some bundles for the pay2emulate Gensis game, Grandia II, and the HD remake for the N64 Star Wars game. I am clearly at that point in my life where I just want to replay games from my childhood, it seems.

Also I downloaded that vampire stripping Otaku game because I saw it was on sale but I didn't want my steam friends to know my shame.
>>
I only bought Men of War Assault Squad 2 desu

yeah, refunds are good now specifically because they don't have to deal with the bullshit that comes with thousands of retards refunding a game and saying "It's on a flash sale now, I want to refund it and buy it again!" every time a flash sale starts. Now refunds are for people who actually WANT refunds, which is how it should be.

Ouch. Yeah I've never approached trying that many. How much was it going to cost you for it all?

>>343783795
It's a good game, if you want to play it you might as well do so and treat yourself. If you want to gamble saving up to $10 by waiting half a year or a full year, you can. Most likely the sale for Winter/next summer will be another 5% or 10% off, I wouldn't expect a huge difference.
>>
>>343783119
My transaction went through, just wait a bit longer, do not touch the client

Also, look at the discounts on right now. Most of them are from the summer deals. Look around, kotomine.

It was almost exactly $1,000 for the stuff for me, and like $100 for the stuff I'm giving to friends

Plus PC is basically the platform where I spend over 90% of my time. I also make a lot of money, that's only 2 or 3 days work
>>
>>343784498
If you're trying to buy 200+ things at once you need to come earlier than the final call, that applies to everything from real retail stores to digital goods.

My carts of 30 or so games at a time had no problem, if you seriously want to get massive amounts all at once you just gotta give the system plenty of time to process all that shit. You CAN buy 200+ things in one cart, but the system isn't made for that and it's certainly normal for it to take a while to process hundreds of purchases all at once.

Like I said in an earlier post, if 40~50% isn't a good enough deal to pull the trigger, then why not just pirate? It can't be because you want to support the devs, you're not doing somebody a solid by spending a buck fifty on something that would typically cost ten times more
>>
>>343787770
No, they were clearly the worst.

If Dildo sim 69 devs were willing to put the game on sale 90% off before, they are still willing to do that now. Many of this steam sale's games were on historical low prices, and the ones that weren't were generally matching the historical low, and that's counting flash sale prices of the past. The games that didn't match it generally had a good reason, like Skyrim with the free upgrade, which is a good reason to make the game cost slightly more than last year during the sale.

Flash sales ruin the refund system, and they ruin the ability to buy something confidently knowing you're getting the best deal available.
>>
>>343781193
Less than 5 bucks. Limited myself to one purchase from my wishlist and got Bully: Scholarship Edition which is a fucking bitch to run on modern machines for anyone considering getting it. Glad I spent less on it that I would a fast food meal.

It is still my favorite Rockstar game and I really wish they would release a sequel or at least a remaster of it.

Oh, it's well known as a buggy bizarre game, it's a cult classic partly because of that. They put tons of time into things like giving the NPCs actual routines to go through and schedules to follow throughout the days, but couldn't get the voice actors to stop recording while high on multiple forms of recreational drugs. It's one of those "it's bad on purpose" games, but somehow ended up being AAA anyway.

Mainly four games, totaling $80 CAD.

It feels like I got a worse deal than previous sales due to the crappy discounts, but also because two of my games are fairly new releases while one is in EA.

The good thing about this sale this time round though is that it forced me to clean up my wishlist. I cut down a 400+ item wishlist to a 163 item wishlist, which is pretty good.

The difference is that G2A is a shady reseller website, that does things unofficially where things can easily go wrong. On the flipside, Steam is official, 100% legal with no grey areas, guaranteed to be real, and if it doesn't run like you hoped or you don't like the game you can even refund it after playing it for an hour or so, 2 hours is plenty of time to test it.

Having 1 game revoked after buying it from G2A is enough for me, thanks very much.

Generations on the other hand is an excellent game. I finished and liked it a lot. Basically on modern you should be fine if you have played sonic colors, classic does feel like solid 2d platforming. The remixes of the music for all stages are simply top notch as expected.

I've heard that the game is a lot better with the "monsters don't actually attack you" mod. It does remove fear and tension from the game, but also makes it a lot more sad a melancholic, as you see the lumbering monstrosities just wandering through the empty hallways.
I've pirated the thing and played only a bit of it, but I have to say that the way they tackle the main theme is really damn cool and refreshing.

Good job on LISA, more people need to play it. Shame the engine and techical aspects are sort of sucky, the game itself is pretty great. Make sure to play it on the "hard" mode when you get the option within the game, it gets you a better/extended ending and isn't much harder outside of getting to use each save point only 1 time, which is fine since you can keep respawning over and over at those points.
>>
>>343796823
Terrarria is so much better on PC, the extra endgame content is great. That's assuming you were only slightly gimped with something like Xbox or PS3, if you have a shit version like mobile or 3DS then this is worlds better. Corpse Party is probably a lot better too, but never messed with it.

party hard is cool but harder than I expected

>didn't like bioshock 1
>liked infinte
That is very strange. I played all 3 Bioshocks on ps3, even platiumed 2 with that shit multiplayer, and figured I would play my favorite one on pc, but inifinte's a game i wouldn't go back. Story's ok, but they really stripped the gameplay down to nothing and it gets too boring imo

I'm on the third to the last mission, the difficulty really varies and it gets easier the more you play, like most games.

I bought ZTD, it was a good game.

How does Dying Light hold up as a parkour experience?

Can I do a no/limited guns approach like in Mirror's Edge?
>>
>Just Cause 3 + Season Pass
>Doom
>XCOM 2 + Shen's Last Gift DLC
>Invisible Inc + Contingency Plan DLC
>Dragon's Dogma
>Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition
>Environmental Station Alpha
>Axiom Verge
>The Witcher 3 + Season Pass
>Rise of the Tomb Raider

I figure this is more than enough to last me until the Christmas sale, probably even into January. Wouldn't normally soend even half as much as this, but I recently upgraded my rig majorly and wanted to splurge on games that'd justify the extra horsepower.

Tell me how I did, /v/

Bought the DLC expansion for OWH. Dunno when I'll play it.

Bought Chronicon, it was boring shit and no amount of patches will fix that shittiness. Sent a refund request and it has been received. Don't know why they wouldn't refund it so I should be getting my steambucks back.

>>343796763
I'm absolutely convinced it's made specifically to not give you one of them.

Refunded:
Airships and Lakeview

Bout $73, spent more than I thought I did. Sandbox building games are my weakness.
>>
Gunpoint
Stardew Valley
RymdResa A weird and sort of disturbing space exploration thing. It's not bad, the shitty poetry it forces down your throat gets annoying though
Shovel Knight
Undertale It's actually a good game but the fanbase are utter faggots who ruin it for everyone.

I miss flash sales and dailies, all those 30%s made me wonder why I waited.

System Shock Enhanced and The Talos Principle. That's all.

Already put 20+ hours into Talos and only started it yesterday. Neat.

Same. I feel let down by how lazy it was and how bad the deals were, but I logged onto Steam today and felt kind of down when I saw it was back to normal. Here's hoping they'll lear from this for the Winter or maybe next Summer sale.

>200+ items
But why?

Talos is amazing, the soundtack is beautiful and I was thinking about the good ending days after finishing it.

It goes on for a bit too long and there's no variety in the puzzles, however.

I don't understand it either. That could last someone like 3 fucking years but they probably keep buying more shit.
>>
Crypt of the Necrodancer
Doom
Dark Souls 3
Witcher 3

I can't actually run the last 3 yet, but got them in anticipation of my big upgrade to a 1070 based rig in two weeks time.

I know it's not the sale anymore, but Va-11 Hall-a wasn't part of it anyway.
Is it any good? The trailer gives it this old 90's dystopian sci fi anime feel that I love.

I think the best thing about terrarria is how it grows on you and builds it's world. I disliked it at first, but once you get into it it might get really fun. I had a little fun (and a lot of annoyances) starting out and surviving, but eventually I found a treasure chest underground, and it contained a rare item that let me double jump. Suddenly, the game became a super awesome exploration game, and I had a massive amount of fun searching for loot and seeing what kind of crazy items I could find. A gun that shoots bees? Sure! Want to mount a blob of goo? You can do that pretty early on!

A lot of the fun comes from how I kept saying stuff like "wait, WHAT!? I can do that too? Awesome!". I went in blind, and fucking loved it. I made a 2nd world eventually when I realized I wanted a big world and not a medium one, and holy fuck was I surprised when I found massive trees in my world, which just didn't exist in my medium world, and then my mind practically exploded when I realized the evil purple zone in my last world didn't exist, and this one had a red gory zone with new enemies and new bosses. If you go in blind, you can explore and find a whole new world, something I never got with minecraft with it's "ok, maybe you'll find a mushroom area or the nether, but don't expect much more exploration" world.
