Unfortunately, it hasn't been done well at all. The fighting game idea is cool but if I had my way I'd get the Yakuza devs to make a Part 4 game. You've got a big open world and random shit happening in it. The main cast is all playable and you can roll out with them as a squad. Depending on your group composition you will encounter different quests. For example if you are playing as Josuke and hanging out with Okuyasu and went to the cafe you would be able to spy on Yukako and Koichi's date.
The combat would be very similar to the Yakuza games, with the heat moves replaced with stand moves. So if playing as Josuke, you can trap people in walls and shit, or if playing as Okuyasu you can zip around really fast by cutting space.
Probably the hardest part of the game would be the pacing, I want it to reflect the slice of life nature of the manga at the beginning, but it would be difficult to do that and maintain the player's freedom in the world.
