Alright, just finished the game. Time for questions:
1. Where the fuck was Kyle? Where was Blick Winkel?
2. Where was Left?
3. Where was Snake?
4. Actually, where the fuck were all the other characters from 999 and VLR anyway? Is there really nothing more than ''Aoi was assisting Akane at Crash Keys''?
5. Is it explained why Snake wears the Free the Soul robe in 999 and why Akane wears it at the end of VLR?
6. What's the deal with Lord Gordain and All-Ice? Is that even explained?
7. What was the point of Mira, a serial killer, being in the game and why didn't she get any drugs injected?
8. Since when can SHIFTers suddenly jump to specific other timelines on command? In the other games it didn't seemed like it was possible, and it only happened after dying anyway, not while still being alive.
Thanks in advance for answering.

4. Pretty much. Seven got a mention, and I believe Lotus did.
5. No
6. No
7. No point; murderer in the other two games had reasons and didn't feel out of place but she totally did. Also, as to why she didn't get the drugs injected, Zero just felt like letting a serial killer loose? And then killing her later because she's a bad person?
tl;dr, Nobody Knows
8. Supposedly because if you're around SHIFTers, you're able to access the morphogenetic field and shift too like Eric and Mira did. It's fucking weird and convoluted, because if this was the case all along, Sigma could've just shifted out of C-End...Honestly, I can't be bothered to make sense of it because there isn't much at all.
>>343773661
5.) C-End 1. Brother gave Akane the robes and told her to go to their ceremony
6.) Lord Gordain was just world building and All-Ice is just a red herring and I don't know why people won't let go of her.
7.) Delta understandably wanted a closer look at those bazongas. Also, she was the root cause of Sean's death so he wanted to kill her personally at one point
Does anyone know if Carlos has any family? I was wondering for the entire game but for some reason the characters never talk about it

Clover and Alice are working in the govermental Esper thing from VLR, Ace is in jail, Santa is running Crash Keys, Lotus is taking care of her daughters, Seven is back with the police and has been assisting Junpei on the side. They blew up Free the Soul's HQ together. Snake is never mentioned

Daily reminder that Delta can't find the terrorist because the terrorist is another Delta from a different timeline and that's the "Brother" they described in VLR.
There are two Delta in all timelines
>>343774283
How does that affect you in any way, faggot?
Does anyone know if it's possible that, instead of being asleep for hours at a time, the characters in their respective teams had actually been awake but had simply forgotten the events due to the memory loss drug? I was thinking about this the entire game but for some reason the characters never bring it up
>>343772927
It was pretty cool, then got extremely good after the AB game where everyone started jumping timelines.
The whole Delta reveal was just the cherry on top. Sure, some threads were left hanging, but the ending was still pretty damn cool.
>>343774034
Uchikoshi said that we'd know more about Lord Gordain from this game. That wasn't that long before the game came out, so it can't have just been that it was planned and got dropped.

>ZE6 was a setup for ZE7, because GOD was trying to prevent Akane from taking its place and it turns out that she was evil all along and wants to rule the multiverse
I can understand and not understand why people keep bitching ab out not seeing 999/VLR characters in ZTD. What would half of them do? Snake and maybe Lotus would be the only ones who could do jackshit because the rest of them were either minorly involved, players of the game anyway, or we already knew what they were up to. Santa's only good for minor morph-field stuff, but the game was made to specifically prevent him from helping too.
Are these people just mad that Clover wasn't in the game? Or do they have Alien-shitpost syndrome?
>>343774283
Let's hope so, it would bring attention to the series.
In the timelines where all three members of one of the teams are dead, does anyone think it might have been because of the vote at 13:30? It seemed to obvious to me but for some reason none of the characters ever brought it up

We knew after 999 that Lotus had her kids to take care of, that Seven was probably faking his amnesia and would probably return to his normal job, Ace was going to prison, Santa was helping Akane (which was doing VLR related shit and trying to stop brother).
The only ones we didn't know about where Junpei (explained in ZTD) Clover and Snake (explained in VLR).
>>343775036
It's because Uchikoshi told a lot of lies about what would be in ZTD. Promised plot points like Kyle and Left didn't have any relevance. We didn't need everyone to appear directly, but Uchikoshi said there would be more information about the previous games' characters than there actually was.

I just finished ZTD
Where does this 18 inch dick meme come from? I only remember Sigma talking about 12 inches in VLR
So what did everyone think? I've missed all discussion for the past week because I haven't had much time to actually play it until recently.
The only thing I'm really dissapointed by is ??? and Kyle being absent from the plot entirely, and I guess ancient aliens. Out of all the shit we've been presented with I can't say I the latter really fazed me in a positive or negative way. I'm surprised so many people are bringing up mind hacks though. It didn't really do anything other than affect the acid baths and some of the votes, which I guess was a way to circumvent the lack of ??? making those actions like he did in VLR.
I thought the fragment system was impressive in how the game still managed to have a lot of impact and tension despite there being little to no build up at all. Generally things were easy to piece together, and there were a lot of decision games that just didn't have much weight to them because of that, but I thought the ones that did made up for the ones that did not. I don't think the puzzles reached the insane difficulty of some of the ones in ZTD or 999, but I think they were consistently decent.
Overall I think I'm satisfied, even if the ending isn't the most conclusive thing that could have happened. Delta himself was a pretty solid twist too I think.>Sigma desperately trying to find Phi

Because he wanted to cover his bases by creating a universe where the virus both was and was not released

Yea just doesn't add up why he existed at all. In VLR Akane claimed that Sigma learned how to make clones (he fucking studied genetics and learned to clone humans for fucks sake) so that he could create Kyle because he NEEDED him for some shit.
What did he need him for? It's clear Uchi dropped that plot line.
Personally I thought it was going to have somethign to do with having a body to jump back to or something since you need a body in the timeline to shift to and he couldn't mess up the VLR loop by shifting back to his own body and a genetic clone might be close enough.
He dropped clones entirely from the story even though they were important. Left clones also get no mention and Uchi even went into detail in one QA how ZE clones are created implying it was important.
>>343780258

>>343780173
So here's the lowdown:
999 came out on the DS in 2010. Everybody loved it and it sold pretty well, particularly in the states.
VLR started development and had the gore and darkness toned down because glorious nippon didn't like it. It releases in 2012 and does less well and sells considerably worse in japan and underperforms in America. Though it ends on a cliffhanger it has no sequel in sight.
3 years go by with no mention of a sequel aside from the creator saying he's trying to get it funded. Last year it's finally teased on some site and it gets confirmed that the third game is made.
Fast-forward to today, it's released.

The main problem with the fragment thing was that they had to account for players playing them in an arbitrary order. As such, they had to go and say "we may have woken up several times already", among other things, far more than necessary which made it tedious.

He's the hero we deserved.
>>343782074
Right though.
I guess part of it has to do with what visual novels are usually about in Japan. Kind of a demographics issue where people expect VNs to be rampant escapism. Still, fuck them.
>>343778470
I wound up buying the game digitally after I found out the preorders fucked up. I'm not canceling since I still want the special edition stuff but when the game arrives i'm probably going to sell it.
>>343782127
Phi was sleeping in a pod though.
Sigma and Akane are the true fuck ups, because none of the training actually worked.
>>343782074
I thought they liked violent shit I mean look at some of their anime it's pretty gruesome.
Maybe nowadays they're more into idols and stuff?
When using a teleporter, you are really just cloned and plopped somewhere else. This can be seen by the two different Sigma and Diana's in the (Baby/Door) Ending. Therefore, if Phi and Delta were sent to the past. They also starved. Even more so, there is a dead World War 2 era Phi out there. The teleporter is probably how Brother clones himself.
>>343782171
Geez, that's really depressing. That really is so sad.
Life really is unfair. Wish it didn't have to be this way. I try not to think about the game we could've had had the circumstances been different.

Well anon, take solace knowing that a part of your consciousness, which is of course hosted in the field, is enjoying them in another timeline.
What was the point of the puzzles in ZTD?
So it's been a while, but weren't the puzzles in 999 originally meant to awaken the kids psychic powers? and the puzzles in VLR were meant to strengthen Sigma's? so then what was the point of having to solve these problems in ZTD? didn't all of the important stuff like the shifting or splitting timelimes happen after the puzzles because of the danger they were in?
>>343782340
Nothing ever felt genuinely challenging. A lot of the rooms were straightforward as hell with nothing stopping you from blowing through it in 3 seconds, but then theres garbage like the pod room that included 8 fucking sliding block puzzles just to pad out the time.

>>343782790

>>343782562
Naw here's how it goes
Junpei and Akane use machine to warp to timeline where they died via execution
Carlos explodes the transporter at his spot to give him the situation to jump to another timeline.
The timeline he lands in is the one where C Team pushed the buttons and melted D and Q Teams. He chooses to stay behind and use the transporter in a time where it hadn't been used yet.
He sends himself 10 months into the past so he can allow the transporter to recharge in the timeline Junpei and Akane transport to so they can transport safely.
10 months of fuckall later he comes in after the decision game has ended in that timeline and saves Junpei and Akane

We have to assume that all this shit was done because Delta read countless minds from countless timelines (or just used his quantum computer) and learned that these are the exact things he needs to do to get the outcome he wants.
There was a lot of similar explanations for shit in 999. That Akane knew she had to do things a specific way to get the outcome she saw.
>>343778178
He isn't even that frugal. He didn't even need 9 participants, He could have just done with 3 participants with rotating personalities, wards and time. Just shift them from other timelines. It is established that in zero escape universe people are retarded and can't realize the body isn't theirs.

He uses the quantum computer to calculate timelines and sees that many of them lead to the extinction of the human race. He uses calculations and finds out the only surefire way to stop it is to create the virus to save a little bit of humanity.
>That friendship is power and will solve anything magic speech at the ending
Delta even goes to the point of saying "So now there is a timeline where Radical 6 wasn't released, and 6 espers are ready to stop the possible extinction of the human race". It's all part of the plan.
>No final puzzle
>Kyle Klim is literally nowhere

>No myrmidons at all

You literally missed the whole point of it. But yeah, your right, that's bullshit too.
So In VLR. How did zero we know code #1 for the bombs?
A friend who is playing through the game asked me and I don't remember. I haven't played that game since 2013(though ill buy the PC version)

How the fuck could he do that?

>8 of them are separated into different cells

Why? It's all part of Delta'sCOMPLEX MOTIVES
>>343785561
He doesn't really have to when that quantum computer exists
>>343785450
So? Just add a note at the end of VLR saying that one day they succeeded(which will obviously break the loop) and call it a day.
>>343785248
Yeah, I got all six cinema in the chart. Then I rebooted my vita and I got the third execution.
>>343785561
Kill one guy chosen randomly. In game he doesn't care about all the timeline he's doomed because he creates one that isn't. So there should be no difference between 3/4 and 1/8billion chance for him
>>343784554
Junpei and Akane obv
>>343785672
If Mira weren't in some kind of communication with Delta/Zero, chances are she would at some point say "What's wrong with you guys, I remember everything from the past few hours".
>>343785770
It's not magic, it's just calculations. It doesn't have knowledge of every human being on Earth. If it did, he'd just find out where he was and shoot him in the face.
>>343785450
Pretty sure his point is that there's absolutely nothing else to the ending other than that. It's dirt simple due to the content being cut.
>>343784008
sigma learns from zero, and hence zero remembers
>>343785535Did he immediately die in the true end?
Can anyone think of ONE legitimate reason for why Delta shot Gab, other than a boring shock moment for the audience?
>>343785802
you would make a horrible writer.
>>343785695
Yeah, I tried typing in
>Eric
>Mira
>Radical Six
>Zero
>Sean
>Q
After awhile, I was kind of sick of seeing Eric shotgunning a kid but the last two in the list were confusing at first. Makes sense now.
Also, fuck Eric, he's unstable as fuck.
>>343785861
Mira's an autistic serial killer. There's no reason for her to give up any sort of advantage she has.
>>343785770
It could also show him timelines where the terrorist might be someone else though, right? He might kill person A but in his timeline, it'd be person B.
>>343785962
It starts with "C"
>>343785809
Weird. Glad you got it working!
>>343785962
Dog was old. That's like the only thing I can think of. Even that is lame.
>>343785993
Same shit Uchi did. Now they are determined to fix it :^) thx for support.
>>343785889
He's able to observe all of the timelines with it, all he has to do is go through all 8 billion possibilities until he finds one that works, he doesn't need to shift to achieve that.
>>343785535
>the vent is actually just Gab's comfy bedroom
Cute doggo
>>343785814
Let's see, you can either have a .0000000125% chance of making your timeline where humanity isn't extinct or a 75% of making your timeline where only 6 billion are dead.
If I was him I'd rather take the chance of the 6 billion.
>>343784768
>Mexican standoff
>Choose Gab
>He's not here!
I fucking loved putting in all the names I knew. Although
>Vote Q
>What's Q's real name?
>Fuck you why does that stop me from shooting the old cunt?
>>343785962
They weren't going to kill each other anyway so he probably just put him out of his misery.
>>343786157
How would it know which person is the terrorist? It's still a computer dude. At-best he could rule out a couple hundred-thousand people.
>>343786214
If we follow the logic the game presents during the entire dice roll situation, it amounts to the same thing.
>>343786082
I'd like to buy a vowel.
>>343785962
More reason for Carlos to pump Deltas face full of leadDifferent timeline Gab needs to be avenged ;_;
>Monty Hall problem comes up with the oxygen mask in the locker.
>Pick a locker.
>Switch.
>It's empty.
Fucking bullshit. I was so mad.
>>343786214
Not when the game is all about the many-worlds theory. He just cares about one timeline. Even with a .0000000125% chance one Delta in one timeline will succeed. Like the there is one team who wins the 100 matches.
>>343786331
1/216 is much better odds than 1/8000000000
>>343785665
yes, biolab
>>343786468
Even worse. I said fuck probability and didn't switch the first time. Got it wrong
Played it again and switched, got it wrong again.
>>343786487
Have you ever considered he wants to live in a timeline where Humanity isn't extinct?

>>343786468
Have you ever considered a 90% chance is not a 100% chance?
You are the bullshit my man
>>343783286
He warmed my heart a little.
>>343778570
it's super dumb, this game is not meant to be played on streaming
youtube gaming was a mistake
>>343785665
>>343786646
How the fuck are you supposed to figure out the order of the jars in there? I could not fucking figure it out for the life of me.
>>343786682
And he will. In one timeline. I mean he doesn't care if he dies in almost all the timelines in ZTD. He even kills himself many times.
>>343786823
You just place the biggest and most awkward ones first.
>>343786765
