This to be honest. After quitting WoW TBC like 9 years ago I havent touched an MMO for more than 2-3 weeks ever again. Every time I try a new one I realize that the genre is still stagnating and that the players continuously ask the developers to turn [insert recently released game] into something that is closer to WoW.
The only MMO I will ever touch is Lost Ark because that doesnt really look at much like an MMO. Looks more like a combination of Ragnarok and Diablo.

It adds the new Deep Dungeon which is this new weird dungeon/special zone thing. It's a multilevel dungeon with randomized contents that when you enter resets you to level one with no gear. As you dive further in you earn experience and gear for that version of your character, and some of that experience carries over to your outside character. Whether or not its enough to warrant a resub alone is dependent on how that type of content sounds to you, but if you haven't subbed in a while you should have plenty to do anyways with the new dungeons, raids, and trials.

Getting a decent static is the hardest part.
I used to have an alright static last year just before HW came out. Around a month or two before release I went on vacation for two weeks and when I came back everyone had a huge fight and 3/7 changed servers and the remaining 4 didn't talk to each other any more. It's a shame that things are the way they are, because the game as an entity has so much potential. The problem is both the world and the people behind it, though. The people working on it are afraid of change or new and radical ideas because they don't think it'll sell, the majority of the people playing the game are just Facebook browsing normiefags who want to play dressup and see it as a timesink. Well, a good portion. The minority population are the usual crowd of ULTRA HARDCORE CONTENT demanding poopsockers that have existed since the beginning of the MMO genre.
What FF14 needs is just more interesting mechanics and activities in general, first. It wasn't a game of chance encounters like the developers may have intended it to be, as a result. I admire the concept, it just didn't work out in most instances.
If we want to get into my personal desires, I'd like to see equipment become more than just numbers. The game is full of nothing but uncontested upgrades, with no real considerations to make at all. Materia exists, but it's poorly thought-out and only ever matters in the brief periods were crafted gear with slots momentarily overtakes the currently available raid/tomestone gear during a content gap. Then the market goes into a frenzy, buys or crafts a ton of it, festoons themselves in complete sets of it, then has it become obsolete a week later when the content finally drops with new item levels.
There are no meaningful considerations to be made when it comes to your characters equipment. Just get the thing with the biggest numbers and item level.
I just want the developers to stop restraining themselves so damn hard creatively.

Alright, "never been this slow" probably isn't fair because it's been out since 2004 and leveling has definitely been terrible in the past. I'm comparing modern WoW to modern FF14, and in modern WoW they give you abilities at a much faster clip and they're mostly useful.
And yes, you also level more than twice as fast in WoW. That's doesn't necessarily make it better but given how boring my low-level marauder was I just wanted to be done with leveling as soon as possible.

Between beast tribes and dungeon roulettes there's a decent amount of content 50-60. I also saved most of my sidequests for alt jobs tho.
Queueing for dps is typically a 20 min wait, so for levelling, lvl 50, trials, and main scenario roulette you have a healthy 5 hours or so of daily content, which is more than enough for me at least.
In between those you have beast tribes, hunts, and whatever side quests you saved. All in all it's not bad daily content, if a tiny bit repetitive.

This is why I still play Archeage. I absolutely hate some of the decisions they made with the game, but I love the way they handled classes.
Every character is composed of 3 sub-classes that you can change at any time at basically no cost and they all level separately. Pic related.
And there are no base stats so it's literally impossible to fuck up your character. Which means you only really have to create one character. If you don't like how it plays after a while you just change classes and level something else. By end game it's a huge bitch to switch classes because of gear, but it's always easier than making a new character.

The gear thing kinda solves that problem in Archeage. It solidifies character classes at end game. So even though my character is max leveled in every skillset, I can't just switch to be a healer or a mage because my gear would be garbage. You could do it if you had a set of powerful gear for all the different classes, but that would mean moving resources away from specializing in your main class and would make you a weak character.
