I play games for the same reason I indulge in films, music, literature etc; because they convey ideas (ideas being the building blocks of culture) and I enjoy engaging in culture. Any game that effectively does this I generally enjoy.
Of the "big devs" you seem so fond of that I'd be glad to see the end of, there's not a single video game release in the past 5 years at least that presents any new idea or does absolutely anything new at all.. They literally produce derivative bullshit which definitively classifies them and their produce as something for a plebeian audience...

I've been playing Ace Attorney recently. I want a PS4 for Nier and SFV, but I've not even got a TV right now - since you asked. The bad but fun games I was referring to include Senran Kagura which is fun as hell and hilarious and holds it's paper thin concept effectively.

Bethesda is the only one where a majority of their games are pretty trash, especially their big ones like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Doom was, apparently, a nice surprise but having to see TES or Fallout continue to dwindle into abysmal quality is actively painful. So kill off Bethesda. The occasional surprise isn't worth it.

Obsidian is made of up devs from the original developers of Fallout, Black Isle. They have impeccable story writing as evidenced in games like F:NV and KotoR 2. They also have a few other hits that aren't quite as story-heavy like Path of Exile. I don't enjoy Blizzard's games these days, but to me it seems like they can at least be made well sometimes. WoW is bad mainly due to the age. Hearthstone is good apparently if you like card games. A lot of missions had different ways of going about them and not all of them were super obvious. Like in III there's a mission where you're told to tail a guy who takes a taxi everyday. Instead of doing that you can steal a taxi and sit in front of his pickup spot and get him that way instead. In V there's really no freedom and most missions just devolve into take cover and shooting.

If Bethesda went under ZeniMax would likely get the rights to the companies they own, so DOOM, Dishonered, Wolfenstein, etc. would be likely be fine in terms of funding neither Bethesda or ZeniMax ever interfered too heavily on dev process as publishers.
So Bethesda could safely die and TES/Fallout would either go to better ends or die peacefully as they deserve.

Killing Blizzard is pointless, they are basically Activision parading around in Blizzard's desiccated skin. WoW and shit will just become Activision products openly and singly. A waste of a vote unless Activision is guaranteed to die with them, in which case I cannot press the button fast enough. Kotick hopefully gets roped on his own entrails.
Rockstar might have dumbed down GTA to a somehow even more casual experience, with little creativity or originality in sight, but it isn't influencing any other devs, so whatever.
No matter how slim a chance, I stand firm that Naughty Dog will make a good game again one day. Unfortunately all I see for the future is garbage like Uncharted and TLOU, but at least the hype, discussion, and influence of these games dies not long after they release.
But Bethesda, they and Todd straight up need to get murdered ASAP. They sold out and destroyed several IPs, churn out mediocre trash like Dishonored and Skyrim that influences video games for worse, and somehow made Fallout 4 even worse than anyone could have imagined. It's depressing at best, rage inducing at worst, and I seriously hope something bad happens to Todd and his family/friends.
