Those 2 gigs of VRAM on the 770 are really showing with latest releases. Wouldn't it be wise to dump a 1070 in my shit and just call it a day? I don't really care about reduces loadscreen time but those extra fps when actually playing are going to make a huge difference.

The "air filters" on the case help out with that. I can remove them without opening the case. Makes cleaning fairly simple. Also don't have my case directly on the rug, but on a piece of glass. Plus my PC isn't too heavy for me. The size is more awkward for carrying than the actual weight.

Intel used to solder the chipset's die with the heatspreader, but changed the manufacturing method and since the third gen iX series uses shitty thermal paste. If you already have a good cooler and good thermal paste and you feel ballsy you can delid it (look up how to do it on YT and no you don't need to use a fucking hammer contrarily to what some retards say) and replace the shit tier thermal paste with some Noctua or something.

SLI is shit to begin with. An i5 paired with a 1070 or even a r9 390 or (non reference) rx 480 will play games beautifully for years to come. TWO 1080s with meme cooling is beyond overkill. I think they are worth it, only problem is that getting 144 frames per sec instead of 60 will take a toll on your gpu, so either upgrade or expect to turn graphics down (unless you have a fairly new system, in which case its fine since tf2 is rather potatoe in graphics).
TN displays that most high framerate monitors use do have some drawbacks in terms of color quality, but they can be decent enough with color calibration and you will get a more static quality across the screen and no annoying IPS glow in the corners.

Especially with higher clocked, older CPUs. Going from 1333 to 2133 can be a fair amount of frames.
In The Witcher 3s case, if you have a 2500k at 4.6, the difference between 2133 and 1333 is over 10 average fps and 20 max fps.

At 144 fps you wont notice much screen tearing unless its one of those games that do not handle it well, but I think its worth it especially since you will come across games with 30/60 fps caps and when you are accustomed to 144 fluidity the vsync capability will be gold worth it.
I own a 144hz freesync monitor and I would recommend getting one, only thing I regret is not getting a IPS monitor but for the most part a TN will work just fine with some calibration.

had my current build for going on 6 years, finally my 2.6gigz i7 is getting caught up (console generation holding back games certainly showed with how long that thing managed to hold up)

In order to install the drivers, you have to run it through a program called Killer Network manager, which blocks out your ethernet connection and takes down your whole modem, including the connection for all other wired and wireless devices.
It has been an absolute pain trying to figure why I couldn't stay connected for more than 10 minutes at a time, and it doesn't help the solutions are not even provided by MSI's website anymore. I had to find the standalone drivers and clean up tools on some guys dropbox.
And I had to do this at a friends house because I couldn't stay connected long enough to find the fix.

I mean yea it's cool to customize your own PC but there are some prebuilt models that are close to the price of building one. To me if your trying to get into PC gaming just find the best deal that's closest to the price of a DIY computer. If it's $200-$300 ore more than it is to build one the build one. Also building a PC is really only good for high end/future proof gaming.
