Pokken is actually really popular. It's probably got a lot to do with the brand, but it is apparently a pretty deep game. Not really that surprised considering Harada was actually involved in the developement.
It's a little strange to see ultra not on the list, but apparently people dropped the game like it was hot, despite SFV's flaws.

The difference is that despite Venom the rest of them can be easily followed and their attacks won't crowd the screen and as long as you maintain your cool you won't get fucked.Except for Zato but then again any player who can play Zato kinda deserves to have as much utility as they do because holy fuck his commands are insane.
Meanwhile in Blazblue you have 3 characters who are practically designed to do nothing but chip and fury attack the fuck out of you until you die. Nu and Mu are especially bad at this because the second they get into close range the entire screen becomes a clusterfuck of colors and at times you'll legitimately stop seeing the characters themselves.
Then there's shit like Koko and Rachel who, while yes they are more tamed, can lock you into a near death combo from across the fucking screen with little to no effort.
And then you have straight up bullshit tier characters like Jin or Noel who have several dashes and anti-aerials-aerials that'll stun lock you.
Guilty Gear may have Venom and Zato but Bedman, Jack-O and Millia can all at least be read and even countered in mid combo as long as you can follow them. Blazblue has several characters that will turn 90% of the screen into a massive damage hitbox within seconds.

For me it is at least, Guilty Gear feels a lot more...I guess natural but then again I already knew who I wanted to main before I even picked up GGXrd (May).
I haven't found any character like her in Blazblue and out of the few characters I do like I only really like Ragna but I can't help but start spamming close range death traps like his Hell's Fang and Blood Scythe and i'll be damned if I ever gimp myself by using Style Mode so I ended up just kinda dropping it.
I just feel like Guilty Gear is a lot easier to get into.

BB currently has the highest skill floor easily. Not only is the execution tight and very fast, but the matchups vary a ton to the point where you need alot of knowledge before you can say you're actually proficient in it. The extended combo length and less linear oki makes it difficult to grasp at first.

I guess. A friend and I decided to take a break from dueling each other constantly on GG and pick up the newest BB on steam. Ten hours in we were already getting the hang of combos. Then we dropped it out of lack of interest.
Maybe you're talking about the discrepancy between scrub and regular player but it's gonna be dreadful in any game. You should never not start by fighting people your level in my opinion.

BB is harder to get into mainly because you have to
-be familiar with each character's playstyle and drives, and with that roster count its going to be hard
-get accustomed to the fact that the game has pretty polarizing balance. The tier gaps are huge and unless you want an easy way out by playing a top tier, youre gonna have to put a lot of effort into
-fishing for counterhits into full converts is part of the game, if you want to deal significant damage you better know optimal routes.
GG right now is easier to get into because they did a soft reset on the series with regards to mechanics and characters. People like to shit on YRCs alot and how Xrd "casualized" GG, never realizing this is a good opportunity to reel in new players, which is so far working pretty nicely.

Nigga I don't ever play with people my skill level on any fighting games because I don't even know anyone besides a group of people at my college or plays fighting games (and I don't even know their names I just hang out with them and eventually I decided to get into the fgc.)
And even then I still dropped CPE not because of a lack of trying to get better but because it's hard for me to try and learn two different fighting games at once along with the fact that I couldn't get into CPE's story whatsoever. I like some of the characters and theme songs from Blazblue but I also dislike a lot of characters in there and what little I do know about the plot and from what I know of Central Fiction I can tell that it'd just be better to not get into it at all especially since it seems to tilt too strong on the VN side of things and what little I like about the plot is probably going to get fucked over. (Ragna was treated like absolute shit in CPE and I honestly don't have faith in Mori closing out Ragna's arc successfully.)
Unfortunately I also ended up dropping GGXrd as well because of a lack of motivation because the community died on PC and I'm poorfag so I can't afford a PS4 with Revelator not to mention that there's really no place for me to go to hang out and actually compete with other people irl other than my college so while I ultimately like GGXrd (actually I think it's one of the best games I've played) I don't have any real motivation to keep on gitting gud with it.
I have to applaud a lot of you weebs/anime fighter contestants. It must get extremely lonely and soul crushing at times.

Because that's not the problem. The fundamentally different way inputs are handled instead of 60hz scanning and special move dependent n frame buffering. It's not just network rollback, one specific example is inputs are allowed to be missed by the buffer but then if the next input is detected the player is just handed what the game assumes he was going for (this is entirely different from shortcuts).
