The physics were wonky and lead to the car phasing through everything including NPC vehicles, the framerate felt like it was running at 20fps despite actually running at 60, controlling the camera in the garage was an absolute clusterfuck and one second moving the mouse forward would move the camera forward and then the next for no reason it would switch to spinning the camera around.
I have a video I recorded of myself playing it a couple years ago, but I don't really want to share it because I tried doing commentary over it and it's really fucking cringey in hindsight. Trust me, if the game you're thinking of wasn't trash, you aren't thinking of the same game I am. This isn't an opinion thing, the game was fundamentally broken.

I have watercooling and custom bios to run past voltage limit, it can beat the shit out of a 970.
Even a stock one is equal footing with a 970. On top of that it's a racing game. There is a limit on the possible requirements.
I can max out dirt rally ( far prettier game) at 60fps 1440p.
Anyway, it's not the gpu that's the problem, it's vram. You see xbone has 8gb pooled vram, so they let it it bloat rather than optimizing. They never bothered optimizing anything for pc either. Other than not even letting me try ultra...

I dunno, I didn't really play it when it first came out. The driving in it is pants on head retarded but you get used to it eventually. In terms of things to do, there really isn't much still once you're finished with the story. There's online races of course but that's about all. The most fun I've had with it is just driving around the fuckhuge map with some buddies. There's this one area up north that's all snowy and it's pretty fun to drift down the mountain passes. The snow is the only thing that makes the driving on that game actually fun 2bh.

Real racing games have dash/hood views like Daytona.
Real racing game fans move the camera forward so you wouldn't see most of the interior details anyway, and also remove the steering wheel model because you already have your own in real life.
