Technically they hand over all the money to them and they decide. They formed an LLC, only to give away all the money they raise AND THEN hoping they get paid afterwords. Instead of, I dunno, BEING YOUR OWN CHARITY since you're capable of raising millions of dollars. But no, nobody knows who GamesDoneQuick LLC is, MSF gets all the money, all the glory and all the credit, while their staff is barely compensated, and still have to pay for travel etc. Normally you would write travel expenses off, but there is no profit. Runners barely make it to the even, while MSF is flying their team into the event.

Some games are interesting like pokemon speedruns which are basically just arbitrary code execution demonstrations at this point. Other games like fzero gx are meant to be run fast so the speedruns of them are completely in the spirit of the game even though they go so absurdly fast that the game usually glitches out.

No, they're harder than DeS in most ways. Bosses that are battles instead of gimmicks, limited healing instead of 99 grass, limited spell uses instead of 99 spice. The only way in which DeS is harder is that the punishment for dying is more severe.

Bloodborne is the most like Demons Souls, at least in terms of the checkpoint system. You have a hub and teleport to different places just like DeS.
