The problem is getting VBA to link when you launch through netplay. At least that's the problem I had when I was trying to get Four Swords going. Like I could link VBA offline, but it didn't want to connect through netplay.
It's interesting though because if you did a save state when it connected and said "look at the TV screen,", and then loaded that in netplay, you could actually use the controls, it just wouldn't let you play. Like you could go through the menus and try to start it, but it would get stuck on the screen telling you to connect the GBA with the cable.
