SoC has a much better atmosphere, I'd recommend that one first. CoP has a much more enjoyable early game and the hubs are pretty well done but the open adventure the first STALKER delivered is still unparalleled.
So what's the state of Sega Saturn emulation, anyway? It's one of my bigger motivations to build a decent PC, but if I can't play Panzer Dragoon, Zwei, and Saga, I'll pass.
