Is there a point to buying memeboards unless you are a gamurr?

The silent bits on the strafe seem ok but if there are cheaper alternatives I'm down

competitive typing

If you're epileptic you can give yourself a seizure
>>
If you absolutely must get a mechanical, pick up something for typists. Half the companies that put out the gamer mechanical keyboards use their own shitty switch brands these days.

Anything with excessive use of backlighting or other useless features is invariably overpriced trash. Your pick is a great example.
>>
>>343606176

Shouldn't you telling store employees how to sell your product?
>>
I had a great keyboard with brown cherry and loved it.
Then dropped beer on it.

Only buy buckling springs.

Typing on a mechanical is magical.

I never even considered one until they bought mechanicals at the place I work at. After a couple months of that I hated typing at home on my old Logitech G11.

Who? Logitech are the only major, mass producing keyboard producers that is using proprietary over Cherry MX.
>>
>>343606976

His pick is an excellent keyboard, turn the lighting off if you're an autistic retard.
>>
>>343608896

I thought Razer was doing it too.
>>
Highlighted WASD is always disgusting, especially because ESDF is objectively superior.
>>
>>343606976
>shitty switch brands

the only company that i'm aware that doesn't use Cherry is razor. then again I don't bother looking at cheap chinese keyboards either.

what i'm saying is, nah, almost everyone uses Cherry switches.

People shit on Razer constantly on /v/, but this was the best $50 I ever spent.
>>
Thoughts on the G810/Romer G?

I despised the thing at first but I cant go back to Cherry now.

why
>>
>>343606102
my brother, sister-in-law, and good friend all have this keyboard. its seems nice, but i don't think i could be that shameless...
>>
>>343608896
I think it changed recently since some patent owned by cherry expired.
>>
>>343606102
Mechanical keyboards are more comfortable to type on for longer amounts of time. Cheap membrane boards work fine but don't have the same tactile feedback.

That being said, the RGB color trend in boards is the dumbest shit

Mechanical Keyboard with dedicated Media Keys and Volume. Is this still the best one?

>>343609534
I like the look of it, but I really don't care about RBG lighting. A dull white light setting is the most I'd ever use.

Best keyboard reporting in.

I can't live without that scroll wheel anymore.
>>
>>343609130

Razer only puts out gamer shit.
>>
>>343609130
Razer is using Kailhs, which are just cheaper MXs, but Razer is charging MX prices so everyone hates them on principle
>>
>>343610297

what's the best? Das, Ducky, Noppoo?
>>
>>343610297
80% is godly though, for a gaming setup the tenkeys are useless and the closer position of the wrists means your mouse hand doesn't get tired or sore.
>>
>>343610269
The gskill 770 coming out this year looks alright if you want a version with rgb.

Which do you prefer? Brown or red?

Anybody know anything about the KEL ES-87? Been looking into mechanical keyboards for a little bit and they're highly recommended.
Also, is there a way to try out different switch types before settling on one? I don't know of any stores with display models.
>>
>>343610297

i use an actual cherry brand kb and sometimes I wish I had a tenkeyless board for if I'm like typing a paper or something for more ergonomic kb and mouse placement

that way i could have the kb centered directly in front of me and the mouse closer in, but for gaming I keep them far apart so it doesn't matter
>>

My 710+ uses MX browns. Not sure about their other boards.

But yeah, mechanical keyboards are worth it imo. Feels like sex with virgin lolis.
>>
>>343610741

i have red but i kind of wish i had brown
>>
>>343610860

Not him but super compact keyboards have less demand, so they charge higher prices to make up for less sales.
>>
>>343610861
yes

anyone have experience with Noppoo? Choc mini is discounted on amazon

I had Blacks in my old keyboard.
Went Browns with this one, and I love em. That tactile feedback is just great, and they just feel so good to type with.
>>
I got a ducky shine 5, the backlighting is pretty nice. Went with blue switches and i love them.

If you're on your computer for 4+ hours a day, I'd say so. They genuinely make typing feel much more enjoyable (if you get one with tactile feedback, that is.) I got one because I was getting sick for certain key combos not registering due to rollover.

Pic related, it's mine. Obnoxious as fuck, but I love yellow.
>>
>clean my brown cherry

I'm thinking about getting the K95, and it has brown switches, what's the difference?
>>
>>343613584
hybrid between the red and blue switch. Good for typing. Okay for gaming.
