Paladins are tanks and elementalists
Dark Knights are Blood Mages or whatever
F/Ps are DoT machines
I/Ls are basically useless but have a bind skills
Bishops are support
BMs have trick arrows they rotate through
Marksmen are DPS but have to be careful of their physical placement on the screen, since they get embiggened deeps at max distance from targets
Thieves are the designated containment class
Pirates are there to keep the other classes from being the worst
etc
The problem isn't that the classes are the same, the classes are fine. The problem is that there is no reason not to just go through the most efficient maps on every character, and it'll be the same every time. You're not going to find someone training on the same map you can party with or befriend. it's just you soloing the same shit on every character you play

The trailers and screenshots of the flashy new classes are enough encouragement to try them out, but you shouldn't be dragging yourself to hit level cap with a character you don't enjoy playing just because of the 15% damage boost link skill. I've done the same. It's a strange feeling watching the game change so much over time, I don't know how to describe it. Bosses that were once a threat because I didn't the HP to tank them quickly turned into a joke. HP as a stat almost doesn't even matter now that bosses have percent based attacks.
I think I had someone also tell me I was the first Marksman he had seen in a long time. It was a lower level dude asking for equips I wasn't using anymore.
The reason I chose the xbow life was for two reasons. My friend recommended I pick up archer since his other friends had mage and warrior covered. The other reason was because the third job was called sniper and that was too cool to pass up. By some miracle I made it to 14X before losing interest and drifting away. Every time I came back, leveling had gotten much easier to the point in a few weeks I reached 18X with no effort. Now before this summer ends, I want to hit 200.

Last time I played this game there was only four jobs available to pick from, you had to click on dice to randomly get the stats you wanted to start with, cash shop wasn't nearly as pay to win as it seems now, and literally everyone was worried about leveling up past 70(?) because the fourth level jobs weren't out yet.
I remember just walking around all day with my Crusader trying to farm mushmom because I didn't know what else to do.

Bossing is already becoming soloable jerk fests to the rich and partying for bosses usually consists of "bring strongest guildmates or friends to help take out the boss for you or watch how fast he can do it" instead of actually fighting it together.

I couldn't find the plateform to Ellinia and didn't know how to reach orbis anymore. When I discovered that I honestly gave up. Where's the thrill of adventuring? You receive a quest at each grand level caps and get teleported to your objective right away anyway. The only "fun" thing I got out my first 80 levels when I replayed the game was the fairy questline.

This is the cancer destroying the genre. Not theme parks, not shitty P2W cash shit. This, the most pressing issue, is dailies.
It makes people not want to play the game. I've said this before, in other threads, but it is not the good feature people think it is. Developers think that it "improves player retention", that the psychology is sound. It isn't.
The entire concept was created because some successful f2p MMOs had abundant numbers of dailies. Like how people copied WoW without seeing what was good about it, people copied those MMOs without seeing what was good about them. That included dailies. Now, people don't question it. Devs just assume "if you want people to play your game, if you want to be successful, you need dailies".
It's the monkeys and the ladder. Nobody has ANY clue why they're doing what they're doing. Nobody questions, nobody thinks. What You Do is add dailies, no matter how much it's making the general MMO population jaded, no matter how much it's damaging your game.
Oh, and make everything solo, too. Breed that delicious antisocial MMO playerbase who won't stick around for ten minutes because the only appeal of an MMO is the fucking multiplayer part.
