One thing I've noticed is the higher skill rating you get, the more people actually care about team composition rather than being a hero. Even around the late 40's early 50's is a bunch of obnoxious assholes who have no valid complaints. Once you get to high 50's and up people seem to be a little more coordinated and better at reasoning.
Frankly I don't know why Blizzard lets people solo-queue for a competitive mode in a game that is heavily reliant on teamwork. That's just asking for a bad time.

Solo Queuing was a literal nightmare, where people would start griefing at the smallest slight made against them. People leaving midgame could cost you 2 hours of an uphill battle, where you have to spend another 15+ minutes just to form another full lobby. Playing with a team was the only escape.

Had a lot of good matches with my friend during placements, won 7 out of 10. I got rank 60, he got 65. After placements everything went to shit, we constantly kept getting paired with teammates that couldn't do a damn thing. Two games in a row we got the same 2 people, a McCree and a 76, both that played that class and only that class. They were both awful, the McCree especially, he was complaining constantly about characters like Tracer and Winston, he was absolute garbage yet ranked 56. You know what would fix all of this? If people lost or gained rank depending on how well they did in the game, instead of just wining or losing. Good players who lost the match because of a bad team might still gain some points, though it might be less than a win, and bad players will loose rank, even if they where on the winning team, if they where bad enough. People would stop giving as much of a fuck what other people do, because at least they'll still gain something from actually being good at the game, and all the shitty players will quickly fall out of their skill rank so they can play with someone of their own skill level.

First of all, you can't just assume people are going to be shit just because you've been matched with other shit players before.
Second, if you start flaming teammates before the round even begins, how is that going to help your team win? You can criticize teammate's picks without being a fucking asshole about it. But if you flame, chances are they'll stick with it to spite you, even if they're being countered, and they'll perform worse because of you.
Why the fuck would they make a competitive mode before fixing all the fucking bugs? Two weeks ago I ragequit again due to constantly dying (to normal bullets) from behind corners and walls, and haven't touched it since.
