Do you like gore in videogames /v/

>pic related
>>
If it's cartoony or pixely I can deal with it or enjoy it. If it gets more realistic or organ-ey I get grossed out quick
>>
>>343567153
I dont really care about it.
>>
>>343567153
Body horror and gore can be nice, yes.
>>
Not a lot of games have some good dismemberment in em anymore, I'm starting to miss it

>tfw i can hardly pardo post anymore
>>
>>343567153
I just know it doesn't bother me in the slightest because it's all fake and I know it's fake. So I can roll with it.
>>
>>343567153
Only if it is satisfying or good gore. I enjoyed the mass amounts in Gears of War.
>>
>>343567153
It's okay.
I think just blood instead of viscera is alright too.
>>
>>343567153
No, it is very problematic
>>
>>343568798
Man, i remember all that pardoposting and HM threads when 2 came out
good times.
>>
>>343567153
Also when enemies do finishing moves on you..
>>
>>343567153
I don't feel very strongly about it. It's nice in Hotline Miami I guess.

Realistic gun feel and reaction to getting shot is way more important

I like it when it's realistic, if it's over the top like Killing Floor 2 it's 'okay'.

But overall, if I like gore in video games? Yes I do, especially if it involves TECHNOLOGY.

Pic not related, but it makes for a nice thumbnail.

>>343567153
I appreciate games with gore in it.

I'm okay with it.
>>
>>343567153
Yes I do. The more overkill and ridiculous, the better. Games that have gibs/gibbing and tons of particle blood are my favorite. I'm really looking forward to Butcher coming out:

>>
I like it when it's used in seldom but particularly intense occurrences, like at the beginning of Deus Ex: HR where Adam gets attacked by the aug and you can see his entrails about to fall out. It gives you a good "oh, shit" sensation.
>>
>>343567153
I like flourish more than gore, if that makes sense. Gore as feedback maybe, like the double-barrel shotgun blowing limbs off in CoD:WaW. Or any kind of realistic blood splatter.

The counter attacks in Ass Creed are always visually impressive and very satisfying, even if the games are bad. They're brutal for lack of a better word, but not gory.
>>
>>343567153
Yea. Ive liked ever since i was kid playing mortal kombat and killer instinct. I find it wildly entertaining when a mortar hits dead center on a guy in red orchestra. I hope rising storm vietnam gets it right.

Gore, dismemberment, ragdolling are all fine. Though I get irked by instantly disappearing bodies/game clean-up.
>>
Yes.

If the gore is gruesome enough, it can serve to scare people away from actually committing atrocities with fevered intent. Gore is one of my favorite features in vidya and it has been lax as of late.
>>
>>343567153
yes, exploding my enemies into bloody bits is a must, bonus points for doing it after they are dead
>>
>>343570279
That axe in asscreed 3 was the tits. The combat itself isnt that great but its always looked good.

When I see a huge amount of gore in a game I think of all the children who bought this game for the sole purpose of seeing gore and hearing cuss words and such and how edgy and grown up they think they are.
>>
>>343570706
so you think about yourself?
>>
>>343570365

I dont like it either but i can understand if theyre trying to focus on better performance.

I appreciate gore in violent games, and whenever a game needs to show a very violent scene, the scene needs to have enough gore to convey that violence.
>>
>>343570753

Were you expecting someone to compliment your autistic sense of disdain?
>>
>>343569682
but KF2's gore is realistic
it has one of the most advanced gore systems to date, next to SoF2
>>
It's pretty neat when a game you don't expect to have crazy gore busts it out in an intense cutscene.
>>
>>343567153
I love it, but since we got into FullHD High Definition Graphics the industry lacks gory games.
>>
>>343571493
It's not realistic. It's advanced, but not real to the world.

Pardo Posting has basically evolved into Todd Posting, dude.
Todd Posting market is up right now and holding strong. Might not be for long though.

If at least they didn't used that Nvidia FLEX bulshit that is forced to low because it is buggy as hell.

>>
>>343570920
>>DUDE, Violence is bad
THE GAME NEVER FUCKING SAYS THAT
>>
>>343567153
As long as it's visceral and not disgusting.
Many games go for the "maggots and decaying flesh" gore which I personally do not enjoy. I like it when someone gets sliced in half and blood spurts everywhere and it looks cool.
