They had to tone down the blood because of ESRB rules of bundled games. I don't think the original would have gotten an M rating, since I think it's less blood than GEB had with a T rating, but submission can be a lengthy process so I understand why they played it safe for GER.
In the JP version, there's a small blood effect that trails from where you devour the monster to your weapon. All that's changed is that they removed that. It's not even noticeable, even though you devour constantly in this game.

I haven't gotten to play Resurrection yet, but I can give you a primer on things from a GEB standpoint.
Deco shots are typically there for guiding a shot into place before the actual damage starts, since they do 0 damage but cost less OP. So, for example, if you wanted a shot that traveled straight up before homing in on an enemy and firing more shots at them, you could use a deco-shot for the straight-up portion of the shot to save some energy.
Since most of your combat is going to be melee anyway unless you build yourself in specific ways, I usually just used the shots with a 'fire and forget' tactic, letting them automatically home in on enemies and do as much damage as possible regardless of where I aim anything.
The most useful kinds of shots for a while are the ones that act like sticky grenades, since they can stick to enemies and then hit them multiple times in quick succession.

Quick devour works for one extra hit most of the time, it fills half your burst gauge so you really don't need to use it constantly and it's weaker than a normal hit.

I'm not entirely sure, since I pretty much never used flash grenades in GEB, but I do remember they stun enemies long enough to get a full Devour on them and usually a hit or two as well, and you could take 8 into most missions, so while it'll let you shave some health off while solo, I doubt that it'd let you kill anything with only those 8.
Though I'm not sure if the same limit applies to multiplayer shenanigans, since I never got to play GEB with anyone else.

Literally some of the worst taste ive ever seen on here. 4U was literally trash as a MH game and as a hunting game. GE is good but not as good as SSD. Kiwami is probably the most stale game I've ever played. Care to elaborate? Because I've been playing MH since FU and 4U was better than a lot of shit that came before it. No, it being more accessible and "casual" doesn't make it less of a good game.

Let me list everything that's wrong with the game:
Spells breaking are good in concept, except the only thing they do against you is make you kill one of the trash mobs so you can sacrifice it and regain spell uses, or fuck off and look for a stupid tree in the enviroment to replenish them. It's fucking tedious. This applies mostly early on, though.
Shit boss design, and shit mission design. I cringed every single fucking time I had to fight another NPC with a small hitbox in a fucking game not made for that shit at all, and the monsters themselves were pretty fucking mediocre and boring as well, just exploit their elemental weaknesses and you just won against 80% of them.
The book structure makes it fucking annoying to navigate through the UI, even something as silly as selecting a mission to kill some random thing is a pain in the fucking ass.
Spellcasting isn't varied enough, doesn't feel much like spellcasting and spells themselves range from shit to breaking the game using certain builds.
And lastly, the limits in the later few phantom quests were fucking shit and totally unnecessary, not to mention monster variety is second-to-lowest in the genre only losing to FW.

Well, it's kinda moot for facial customization. Since 90% of the time you're going to be staring at the back of your character's head usually under a helm of some sort.
Since GE's equipment stats are all based on the arc they get to have fun with the character itself instead of the armor being the key bit.
They both have good distinct voices though, which is the best part of any hunting game.
