That shit is almost always a beginner's trap.

It allows you to get past enemies slightly more powerful than you should, but you become more reliant on having bigger and bigger % chances, and your weapon loses out on more powerful dps enchancts, which make the fight longer, which means you need more % vamp... etc etc.

Poison only really works for me in Pokemon (rarely), and I guess South Park Stick of Truth, "Gross Out". I've never found a use for it in stuff like Final Fantasy because enemies die so quickly it's a waste, and bosses are immune

I fucking love when games let me do that since it's always so broken. I think Torchlight had that where attacking would then speed up your attack, which then meant more attacking and thus more speed. Warframe also has it in the form of Berserker. If you get a crit with a melee weapon your attack speed goes up, which it can then improve one or two more times on top of that. With a weapon like the Tipedo that has a decent speed and crit rate you can literally attack so fast it looks like your character is bugging out.

I always try to have one weapon with it on so that I can constantly charge other enchanted shit. That way I can put on the least efficient but powerful enchantment on a weapon/item then switch over, steal some souls, then recharge the original weapon to max. That and you basically never run out of money.

Not really. When you have 100hp, and the enemy has 1000, 10% steal is your entire HP pool.
Which is why when you design your game around it, as a defence mechanic, (Path of Exile), it can get really stupid, because you are forced to get at the least 3 layers of defence to not get instant gibbed.

basically
every time you equip it it curses itself, making you need to uncurse it before you can unequip it
it allows you to fly so only walls can block you
it lets you see any sort of invisible monster
and it gives a slight strength bonus and good gods hate it

BUT

any time a monster - no matter the type - appears in your line of sight it makes you unable to walk away from them and forces you to go and attack them - which is why the see invisible and flight are slightly worrying, as that means you cannot escape by having a monster turn invisible (and the Flight ability drains hunger and is not guaranteed to work)

also it summons demons sometimes so thats cool

And this is why Riki is the best DoT dealer ever. All of his DoTs stack, bleed, poison, even fucking burning and freeze. And when they're about to wear out, he's got a physical skill that does damage multiplied by the amount of negative statuses on an enemy, and removes the statuses. Couple that with his great team heal, insane amount of HP and unique ability of filling the Party Gauge and Riki's a fucking force of nature.
