Ashran was complete garbage but by far the fastest way to gear up, so people suffer through it. I KNEW he would use those numbers as "people liked Ashran".
Fucking more lockboxes. PVP templates not working out in the world. Tanks in pvp are apparently way too difficult to balance.
Participation in rated arena or rbgs was lower than TBC levels during WoD. You would think that would be a wake-up call but it appears they've given up.
WPVP will be garbage for anyone not in mythic gear or decked with legendaries with goofy gimmick procs, and rated arena/rbg is going to be a cesspool of turbo-tier mongo'ing. In addition i hope everyone is excited for triple blood dk being tops in 3s.

But the problems that plagued WoD don't exist in Legion so far. The only big problems are ability pruning and garrison missions. But the garrison missions aren't as lucrative as they were in WoD.

I do like the story so far, even if a lot of it is shock value. But at least it seems like a fun progression. Plus the zones look pretty cool. WoD questing was fun too. And raids were pretty good, at least mythic. It was the rest that was dogshit and I am concerned it could be the same path for Legion.

But seriously, is this thread full of shills or are many of you literally ok with so much of this? Some of Legion sounds fun but a lot feels like hot garbage. Many posters here are sucking it's cock and it's alarming.
Keep in mind WoD looked great as well, but a big red flag was the various issues that were brought up in beta and flat out ignored. Legion is floating on along the same path right now and realistically 99% of the xpac is set in stone at this point. We're going to get tuning and number changes but not a lot of mechanic adjustments at this point. Several specs have some fairly alarming issues at the moment. Others, yeah, are pretty fucking solid.
Genuinely just curious. I assumed the blizzdrone thing was a meme. It's ok to like a product overall but still be critical of elements within it.

I've been thinking about arms warrior or frost teekay. I'm not sure though, I want a class that can do at least two roles for easy queues but I hated druid in wod and monk tanking was too focused on guard so I dropped them. I'm also bad at squishy classes and paladin is cancer so that really leaves only warrior and dk. Tanking as blood is the easiest since you don't have to call for externals on VoIP and just play like a dps but that arms looks sick.
I hate both unholy and fury though so if they become meta I will probably just run monk as long as their tanking becomes less dependent on resolve+guard. WW looks fun as fuck

This. Countering CC with trinkets and CD's is a huge part of PvP. However there are a few things wrong with PvP.
Instead of taking all CC out of the game, how about balancing the fucking classes. DK's shouldn't have turbo regen with the power of a warrior. Resto Druids can be stopped with CC, but if you don't chain CC, they're back up to 100%. Hunters aren't really that bad, people are just mad because "OP crows."

I've yet to play Resto druid & Holy priest but everything else feels fucking awkward / shit to play, Rsham wasn't too bad however Disc priest is just flat out boring, Hpaladin no longer have holy power & feel underwhelming, hardly any healing spells available.
Destruction warlocks now use soul shards, to gain soul shards you need to use Conflagrate which is on a 9.15 seconds CD, you have 2 charges you can have a maximum of 5 shards, 1 chaos bolt is 3 shards. You only have 1 real filler spell which is Incinerate which costs a ton of mana, so you'll be spamming Mana tap pretty much for any long duration boss fights.
On top of that Burning Rush & Demonic circle teleport are both talents now but are both in the same row, so that's fucked us over in mobility which we barely fucking had anyways.
I'm losing any hope I had in Legion incredibly fast.

It took a long time because it was made in 2004 where the whole idea behind MMO's was you stretch everything out in order to keep people paying a sub fee. The tedium of leveling was all to keep you paying money.
As years went by with WotLK people wanted more sophisticated endgame content and leveling became an afterthought. That's what happens when MMO's expand themselves. This same shit happened with Everquest.
Stat based gameplay was turned into action/strategy based gameplay. Turn-based RPG's with stat building fell out of style and action adventure games became popular. The biggest cause of WoW's decay is simply adapting to new era's of game development and game consumer desires.

Not sure about LFR compared to Rift, but if you want gear in a hurry you can ilvl 700 in like 2 hours or less in an ashran premade.
You'll have to jump through hoops to get in - basically you join their vent, stay on mic, find out the password, then join up through the group finder thing. You can look up how to do it or ask, the two groups are "hydra" and "avengers", I forget which faction is which because ashran is awful. Some other groups do it as well and you can find that shit on the bnet forums or mmochamp/wherever.
No downside to the pvp gear, it's the easiest/fastest way to catchup by far and start real raids, and you'll replace shit fast so you can get set bonuses.
Taht's of course assuming you're even trying to raid, but whatever.

Ashran was such a disappointment and I realize that barking about how bad it is is a meme at this point, but it sucks that the best version of it (as in now) is simply a shortish grind for free gear where you literally avoid pvp most of the time.
Even with the buffs the opposing side gets, it's nearly impossible to beat a premade on mic. And premades vs premades don't happen, one will just hop to a new ashran.
They gave up on making ashran anything but a loot pinata like 12 months ago. Such a shitshow the entire thing was and is.

it's all opinions and preference, but ret is really really really REALLY boring in beta. Any fight with movement and you are going to be fucked on dps, they are slow. And now have colossus smash so all of your damage is tied to that window.
I've been a paladin since vanilla, off and on, and ret since tbc. I'd honestly prefer tbc ret to legion ret.
Ashbringer DOES look cool but it feels like they gave us that and stopped trying afterwards. It's weird since ret, while boring, didn't seem particularly broken in WoD anyhow - and empowered seals was actually pretty fucking neat.

IMO it boils down to choices, and they've been removing player choices steadily for quite some time. Of course you can "never go back again" but if playing on private servers convinced me of anything, it was that player choice (for good or bad) and community > everything else in the game.
Regarding vanilla, only old SWG made me feel more present in the actual world and that my actions mattered. I was a big fan of trying out specs, even really really horrible and misguided ones, simply because it was fun. Not meaning to make a "retail sucks" argument, but that kind of thing was lost a long time ago.
