Ventrue are strong in the way that they can either convince, dominate or negotiate their way into getting things done. Physically they're obviously far from being the strongest but given how they're the defacto rulers of the Camarilla (an organization consisting of 7 vampire clans) and the ones who dictate laws for the undead within several major cities across the globe I'd argue that their relative power is quite above that of any other clan. They're also the clan that most closely works with humans, so their relationship with them is on the best of terms whereas other vampire clans either dismiss them completely or keep them at arms length as nothing more than indentured servants.
I've started and played this game up to the sewers 4 times now, but I stop every time I get there. My game always bugs out in some way, either making me lose a ton of time or corrupting my entire playthrough. In addition, the combat sucks ass and is no fun/even feasible as certain races.
I love, love, love the atmosphere, dialogue, and story, but I can't find a good and feasible way to play through the game. I feel like such a casual.

I didn't find the combat or story bad, though, and the only rpg mechanic I think it was missing was to create your own character, the rest like leveling up skills, making choices that lead to other paths, alternate endings and etc are still there.
I think CD Projekt will do a better job with Cyberpunk 2077, can't wait to play as Fixer.

The sidequests are still fun but the main story quests transport you elsewhere and pull me out of things- they are way too much like missions as opposed to opportunities to roleplay or soak in the atmosphere. Boss fights, combat, stealth, and so on, which would be okay if those things weren't the absolute worst aspects of the game. I want to replay for the third time but I hate the museum mission, I hate the haunted mansion mission, and I hate the boat mission.

The Sheriff has to be 7th generation or lower, because he's capable of using the Chiropteran Marauder zulo warform, which is a sixth level Vicissitude power (only those of 7th gen or lower can use those).
Now, given that what the Sheriff is - a Nagloper, an African Tzimisce - it is highly unlikely that the Sheriff is willingly serving LaCroix, especially when used to blatantly violate the Masquerade. Thus, it can be assumed LaCroix is Dominating him into servitude.
This would mean LaCroix is able to Dominate a 7th generation or lower vampire, which means he would have to be of the same generation or lower.
So, LaCroix has to at least be 7th generation, probably 6th generation, considering the hold he has on the Sheriff and his ability to boss around Beckett (who is something of a celebrity).

A Sabbat Toreador is an absolute monster.
The only ones that aren't allowed to be Sabbat are Tremere and Ventrue, because they're beyond dedicated in eradicating any defectors. Vice versa for Tzimisce and Lasombra, but there are more of them than the other way around.
