End of chapter 1, you're about half-way through. There's a huge prison with the chapter 1 boss, it's neat. You can run that to get some decent gear. And this one does really feel like a huge prison.

FUCK YES I love shut like that

As a huge fan of Titan quest, I love grim dawn, tho I wish that it was a little more different from tq. They included single death dungeons in the first game, and just introduced more hardcore dungeons running stuff and other things of that nature. I think they are working on an expansion as well. Can't wait.

Titan Quest crossed up with Diablo 2. It's better than D3 or Path of Exile or any other ARPG on the market right now. Great music and atmosphere, tons of build variety, decent lore/story, nice graphics.

It's just a good game, no reason to not own it if you like good RPG games.

>>343525069
Completely different. Divinity is great too, but they aren't at all similar. I own both and either one is easily worth the $20 or so price atm.

If you want a faster paced game get Grim Dawn, if you want a slower paced one stick to Divinity.

Divinity I think is harder at times, but Grim Dawn doesn't fuck around once you get to Ultimate.

Both have great soundtracks and graphics as well as exploration. Overall I think GD makes for a better atmosphere since it's more dark, but that's just a preference of mine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5lvHyLmx5M

Music like this just makes it immersive as fuck when you're playing.

Either game will give you a good ~80 hours or more of content depending on how much you want to play them. Both have great replay value.
>>
I haven't ever played any of the games I got during the last 3 steam summer sales

Seems like the DLC is going to introduce pretty good endgame.

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41903

>Back during the Kickstarter, one of the campaign’s final stretch goals was the unlocking of what we then called Survival Mode. It was described as follows: “In survival mode players will fight to stay alive against increasingly difficult waves of monsters.” At its core, the new Crucible mode embodies this statement, but it also delivers so much more as you tackle its 150 waves.

>In the Crucible, death marks the end (especially true for Hardcore players). Every 10 waves of enemies, you have to make a difficult choice: continue on for the next 10 encounters for a chance of greater reward, or cash out what you’ve earned and not risk your own demise.

>Should you perish, you cannot continue and the treasure will be reduced substantially.

>Tributes are the currency of the Crucible, earned only through bloody combat. How you spend your hard-earned Tributes is up to you:
>Activate powerful Celestial Blessings to give you an edge in battle
>Create devious Defenses to aid you in combat
>Gamble them away for better rewards

>The Crucible is a cruel place where even the mightiest heroes meet their match. But we couldn’t stop with just one deadly arena. Crucible mode will feature several battlegrounds, each with a different layout and defensive positions.

>Mutators are global effects applied to all monsters or players, each one a unique twist that strengthens monsters/players in one way, but weakens them in another. As you progress through the Crucible, additional Mutators will be applied, and every 10 waves they will be re-randomized.

>The Crucible will test your characters like nothing has before as you battle through the Aspirant, Challenger and Gladiator difficulties. Defeating 100 waves on a difficulty unlocks access to the next, where greater rewards (but also greater challenges) await.
>>
>>343525678
That's true for some builds, but there are many builds with a lot of actives.

shaman/Occultist bleed build almost has too many actives, especially when you get awesome abilities from gear

Despite breaking my rule of never paying more than $10 in a video game, I'm loving Dragon's Dogma and would recommend it
>>
>>343525678
That's the problem with the braindead genre, but TQ and GD did it the worst, especially with bad level design that doesn't really feature a lot of open terrain and never changes and incredibly slow level progression with some skills. Sometimes you have to play through dozens of levels that give you absolutely nothing because you either spend points in passive enhancements or category levels. Add to that abysmal enemy variety in terms of their skills and abilities and it's just not fun to play through the game again.
>>
>>343527434
Good decision. If there's one game I would break that rule for it's that. Enjoy your loli pawns!

Serious question.
What difficulty should I start off on in Grim Dawn?
Not trying to sound like an arrogant cunt, but normal mode is usually too easy in most games.
Should I bump it up one to Elite or is Normal mode in this actually sufficiently difficult?

This.

Got it in winter sale, for 3$ and it's some of the best value you can get this sale. Awesome story, even in side quests they didn't get lazy. Combat has it's issues, definitely could take a few hints from xcom games, but overall it's really fun. Game looks absolutely gorgeous(except for character portraits, somehow the art quality drops hard for all the char portraits, only very few good ones available) and the soundtrack is spectacular.

I bought Hong Kong this sale but haven't played yet.

>>
>>343529378
You can't start on elite just like you can't start on nightmare on Diablo 2, you have to beat normal first. Elite is for 45+ characters.
You can use veteran difficulty on normal playthrough if you find the game too easy, but I personally don't like it, it isn't even that difficult, instead it just makes enemies damage sponges and makes certain builds that are slow until you get 50+ points into one mastery extremely tedious and slow to play.
>>
>>343529378
It's been a while since I played but I recalled hearing that harder difficulties you need to specifically have so much of X resitance or you get shitcanned, if you want to go ahead, that's not my cup of tea though

Grim Dawn is literally the only game I've paid for in the past 2 years, I've played PoE in the beta and for a year or so after that but I'm already enjoying Grim Dawn more. Only qualm I have is the soldier tree doesn't really have a bread n butter attack which is sensible considering it's more of a defensive class but eh.

But I'm enjoying this conjurer build. Use tome of ognapesh and go shaman only for 16/16 briarthorn and maybe mogdogrens pack if you want. You have 5 summons and use black death to augment doom bolt, sigil damage and bind Sheperds Call devotion to it and just sit back.

Unfortunately they're not tuned like a necromancer, often they rush ahead of the screen and you're left just cursing and damaging mobs while your pets clean them up so that can get tedious.

CrossCode

Pretty graphics, good music and sounds, nice story and characters and kickass combat. It's still in early access but the devs have been releasing updates steadily. So far there's 3 towns, 3 areas and 2 dungeons out. The dungeons are rather puzzle heavy though.

Grim Dawn can be played on multiplayer just fine but it was designed with singleplayer in mind.

It's just that it doesn't have any special gimmick for multiplayer, it's basically the same as singleplayer but easier.

It's al ot of fun since a lot of item grant new abilities, you can make a lot of builds based on specific gear.
>>
>>343544139
it's literally far cry 3 again

torchlight 2 is multiplayer in where you spawn a game and people can connect to you.

There is only a basic cheat checker tho and all players need the same mods if using any.
>>
>>343544139
It's Far Cry 3 with slightly worse characters.
>>
>>343544102
1. yes
2. half but you really want to customize your equipment/drop with components(that's like a gem/rune) some components give you skill.

Yeah like this guy said, you have to make or find a relic that allows you to dual wield for example, but I never wasted too much time farming and I had fun. A couple of times I farmed for a single component for a certain relic, but it didn't take a long time.

I don't remember exactly since it's a dead character now.

But it was shaman/demo with the whole Primal Strike maxed as my auto attack, Stormcaller's Pact maxed, Modrogden's Pact enough to get good defense. In demo I maxed Vindictive Flame for that sweet Total Speed, 1p in Flashbang and its sub, 1p in Cannister Bomb and 3 in its transmuter for sick aoe stun and the rest is up to you.
Devotions, Tortoise, Lion, Scales of Ulcama, Viper, Rhowan's Crown, Chariot of the Dead, Kraken, Behemoth, Empty Throne, that's from the top of my head and some of them have changed since but that's pretty much it.
