I just found Soul Hackers too cryptic and dated while also not being very challenging combat-wise. In terms of the main SMT series, I think 4 is a much smoother ride while also having more challenging combat. Definitely excited for SMT4 Final.

100%, actually. Bayo 1 is just missing a completion mark for Angel Slayer (which I have neither the chops nor the patience for) and Rodin. (again, a huge grind I don't have the patience for) Bayo 1 is just on there because I feel like it's a better game by the slimmest of margins, the only weapon I liked in 2 was the Salamanders while 1 has Onyx Roses, Kilgore, a better sword weapon, and shit like Sai Fung.

It's on my list, I actually have it sitting right next to my 360 but I've been on a Monster Hunter kick lately and I have no idea how long that'll last. Gotta get it out of my system so I can work on the backlog though. I've played MGR also, but can't decide if putting it on the list is leaning a little too much on Stylish Action, and what I would even axe to put it in my 3x3.

For the Platinum Ticket, farming halos in Bayo1 is actually really easy when you find out the two main ways of doing it.
1. The easier way is abusing the LtColKilgore glitch, wherein you place lightning Durga on feet in one set and LtColKilgore on feet in the other, and then do the any combo that would normally be the many many kicks of Durga, but press the swap weapon set button just after the animation starts and it fires like 30 rockets in 1 move. Combine with Gaze of Despair and Nonstop Infinite Climax difficulty for easy halos. Typically used against either Iustitia or Fortitudo's head in the church early on.
2. Take double lightning Durga and Gaze of Despair into a Nonstop Infinite Climax Temperantia fight (other weapon set can be anything you like using normally), and fight him normally until the part where you're on his body breaking the cores. At this point, use lightning Durgas only and kill the cores and head as normal, but try to keep your combo going from the very first core all the way through to the end of the kill, mostly by using Panther to get from core to core fast. Usually gets more halos than the above.

Still doesn't solve the bigger problem of beating Angel Slayer, unless the rocket salvo is that big of a game-changer that it makes it easy. The one or two attempts I made involved trying to taunt weak enemies to top off my health after every wave so I could go in fresh every time, but it just took so fucking LONG that it wasn't worth the effort because my inevitable failure would force me to do so much over again. The double/triple Jeanne fights were a pain too, charged Pillow Talk does a load of their HP but it just isn't enough to down them in one strike.

For the Alfheims I'd recommend the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa as an accessory, it's crazy OP once you get the hang of it (or just spam the stick in the general direction of an enemy).
Other than that, there's not a lot of advice I can give, since each Alfheim is different and needs different strategies to beat. If nothing else, check out some youtube videos of people beating them to get an idea of what strategies work for what Alfheims.

m&b lacks a special something to tie the gameplay elements together.
try the lord of the rings mod "the last days" or for the original m&b try "star wars conquest."
plenty of other awesome mods...what makes the m&b series go beyond pretty good to great...are the mods.
I sometimes get joked on for tiger woods. but it's the best arcade-y blanded with realism golf game. after '04 the courses were never as good. and it was the game my best friend and I played the most before he passed away. I have to reply it occasionally and I get nostalgic for the friendship I had. they are definitely nice memories.
