People still care about the GDQ's? You can only watch the same speed runs so many times. The last one I watched was in 2014 and it was a shell of its former self. Speedruns in general aren't entertaining anymore after you've been watching them for years
I will probably look at it for a few minutes, then laugh about how stupid it has gotten over the years. 2013 was the last good year for GDQ.

Never speedrun a whole game, but when sonic generations hit steam I did the time trial thing for city escape act 2 and battled with 3 other people for the world #1 spot on the leaderboards for about 3 days, gaining it back by milliseconds only to be beat by them again
then FUCKING HACKERS all had 0 second times and some dudes had times that were suspiciously quicker regardless (although my route probably wasn't optimal anyway so a few seconds might have been saved by crazy new routes)

When Resident Evil 2 came out my friend and I would speedrun it.
That was back there was no organized attempt at recording. I remember we sent in a VHS tape to a gaming magazine and they published our time in a list. Felt pretty good.
