Wearing anything else after I got Manticore felt wrong. Using the same armor at the start and the end of series just seemed right.

Wolf is my favorite.
Wish the game had hoods like in TW2 though, I wouldn't dislike the Grandmaster Cat so much if it had the length at the back. There's something awful Witchery about that.
Wolf armor is just really unique and original and I like it, liked the style in W2 a lot too.
Second would be Manticore, for obvious reasons.

Pretty sure 1.22 was the last update for the game. They are done with Witcher 3 now. Maybe mods for later. Besides, I dont know how they could upgrade it without making it look stupid, the current look is pretty damn good already.

Blood and Wine introduced Grandmaster ranks. Viper set did not get a Grandmaster upgrade, highest it has is Mastercrafted. (Grandmaster sets have set bonuses)

The combat is not its strongest point, that's definitely true - certainly not as good as DaS, but it serves its purpose.
The game is so much more than the combat tho - the story, world, lore, reasonably varied monster types, the gear upgrades, skill upgrades and fantastic story DLCs are all big pros. The clunky movement and combat are really the only slight cons to TW3, in my opinion.
It's one of my favourite games of all time, if that counts for anything.

Yes it's worth it. Get the DLC too since both are fucking amazing. The main game story has highs and lows but it ultimately a lot better than most trash out there. HOS dlc is fucking brilliant and BAW includes one of the most aesthetically pleasing game areas I've ever seen.

I disagree with this. Dark Souls isn't the best game ever, I've certainly played games with better gameplay than DS or TW3; but TW3 is still a good game.

As Blood and Wine was the end of the franchise, I kinda felt like Geralt should go out in his Witcher 1 gear.
So I went with Manticore+Long hair+clean shaven for that expansion.
