Vast majority of people that bought the game aren't going to be so good that they destroy everyone with a few characters that are top tier. When I played Brawl with my buddies we all had our favorites and mine was bowser. Who supposedly wasn't anywhere near top tier. Point being we played it for fun and weren't obsessing over tiers because we didn't even truly know what was top tier and what's not. We just used our favorites.

Good stuff. She's actually pretty fun to play. Still can't believe that she was an original character for MvC2.
Pretty good casual game, competitive MvC is too much of a clusterfuck to me. Art is gorgeous, possibly my favorite of bengus's work.
I remember goofing around with just about everyone. I remember liking mega man, doom, tron, cyclops, and iceman.
Interestingly dhalsim is considered to be god/top tier but his imputs I believe are so specific that it's near impossible to play him at a true competetive level.

Actually some of MVC2's Capcom characters were like that for me back then. I never even knew Star Gladiator existed and I liked using Hayato. Same goes for someone like Sonson too.

By saying "zzz" he sure makes it seem like he was crapping on the game. Which to me is much more fun to play then MvC3 even though MvC3 is far more balanced. The Xfactor thing meant to balance the game was so shitty and killed any truly shocking moments that came from doing a comeback. That shit was more casual then anything in a smash game unless you were a pro who stomps everybody else.

IIRC, Ruby Heart and Amingo were both meant to be more than just OCs (I think they were both meant to be Darkstalkers characters, but the series was effectively cancelled before they could get in, so they just re-used the designs to fill up empty space in the MvC2 roster).

3S online on PSN also has a sizable number. JR is still on there as always, I don't think he'll ever get off. Fightcade also helps with the popularity of 3S since it's free to setup and use.
