Alright /v/, let's have a bug report thread. I absolutely love this game, and it needs criticism to grow.
Also, any game mechanic issues or game design flaws would help. Second game could benefit.

The voice acting and story can get pretty fanfic tier at times. There was enough good in it and it added enough context to the levels that i'm glad I didn't play classic, but it could definitely be improved.

A lot of bosses, particular the ones later in the game, have little or no tells or windups for a lot of their attacks. You die the first few times largely because it's just impossible to predict anything, which is pretty lame.
This is likely also why Brevon is stuck doing a boring as fuck simple pattern over and over again rather than stringing moves together semi-randomly, as that would be complete bullshit since there are no tells or windups for most attacks and his knife takes off like half your health in a single hit.
Fix that shit and you can make actual good bosses.
I wish the screen was zoomed out a little bit more or maybe the enemies stood out a little bit more from the background with a brighter palette

agreed later bosses made me put it down. but some of the other bosses on hard were a nice and fun challenge. also when they are like FINAL LEVEL or some shit and you are thinking like oh this is the last level and then they are like FINAL LEVEL 2 and so forth and you are just like ok fuck off now

Sequel is using an engine made by Taxman, who's responsible for the Sonic 1, 2, and CD remakes, so that's probably already fixed as far as the sequel is concerned.
