DMC3 has a horrible PC port, definitely go for the HD collection. DMC1 is worth playing, but don't go in expecting a similar experience to 3 or 4.

The PC port of 3 is bad, but there is a mod that fixes most of the issues and adds DMC4 style switching. Regardless, you should get the HD collection first. DMC1 is a good game, and is still fun to play and it's the established the 3D action genre. You should also play DMC2 as well, so you can understand the flaws firsthand and it will also make DMC3 that much more satisfying.
