SSX 3 is one of my favorite games. I love it so much.
What are some games that you can just watch a video of and still be as entertained as playing?

Is there a lot of difference between the PS2 version and the GC one, and does it run as well?
I've been emulating it on the GC, it runs flawlessly besides some slowdowns on peak 2 and so far I love it

I have no idea. I grew up on the PS2 version. I faintly remember emulating the GC version on the computer a few years ago and thinking the textures and shit were a bit weird. So I concluded that the game was intended to be played on the PS2 or the GC version was a bit funky. Dunno.

Got a lotta love for SSX Tricky. But SSX 3 was the full realisation of potential. I remember reading video game magizines, and the hype for SSX 3, 30 minute downhill no loading screens. Fuck. I got so fucking excited. And then the game pulled it off.

There are less buttons for tricks on the GC version. So you can't do stuff like Roast Beef or Swiss Cheese.
Otherwise I think they're close enough. I get slowdown at the top of Peak 2 also.

Gamecube version is missing quite a bit of tricks and I believe a mechanic that lets you do other tricks (Some button I think)

I like TAS's (tool assisted speedrun) because I enjoy watching games being played "perfectly" beyond human skill, with calculated routes and what not
the only thing I hate about any speedrun in general, is that they 3/4 of the time use glitches
I also watch 100% completion walkthroughs at 4x play speed
I miss those coolboarders games where you could punch the other snowboarders. Why aren't games fun anymore :(

i remember how I felt when I found this, it was a mix of anger, confussion and sadness, why do you put a bowling ball next to some beer bottles acting as pins if your shitty engine can't reproduce what everyone its expecting to happen? you know everyone is going to throw the ball, and you know everyone is going to say "oh, that sucked" why would you do something like that?

For whatever interesting reason in SSX3, there's a pseudo-HDR style color blur special effect on the screen when you leave caves and it's exclusive to the PS2 version.
The Gamecube and Xbox version don't have the special effect.

I believe the GC version doesn't have 1 extra trick button, which makes every combination with those button go away as well.
Also the D-pad is terrible on the GC controllers, so it might fuck some of your tricks. Regarding framedrops, I've never seen any on my end.

I used to always play Allegra Sauvagess. While the rest of them were commercial whores and trendy idiots I thought Allegra was more normal, more natural, at peace with shit, no bullshit and not boring. The videos on YT have all people playing Kaori, I don't understand it.

I say Happiness is my favorite since it was the first and probably only big track where I found all the snowflakes the first time I played it.
