Aren't the dlc characters coming out now "season 1"? So if there's other planned on a possible s2 wouldn't they have to somehow be in the story? All dlc characters so far were shown. So with that in mind I think they're gonna continue from there with Gil. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Bridging to SF3 is unavoidable at this point anyway.

Alex and Uriens rolls expand in SFIII. They both only appeared twice, both were playable once.
I expected all SFIII characters to get ignored, Ibuki got it easy since she's working under the Kanzuki clan.

Story started off entertaining, but turned out really shitty. Ryu of all people beating Bison (instead of Chun Li or Guile) was fucking stupid. The humor and execution was also really awkward because you can tell they are too afraid to stick with their Japanese roots as they want to appeal to the dudebros.
Also the transitions and cuts were awful. Scenes happened way too often with loading in between each one. It could have done better to just have longer scenes with less transitions.

A little disappointing, but I'm not really sure why I was expecting much from a Capcom story. Having the Dolls was nice so Vega, Balrog, and FANG didn't get used like Baraka and Reptile in MK9, and a handful of the character interactions were neat.
Also Karin was in like 10+ fights and fucking won every single one of them, meanwhile Chun-Li lost to fucking Rashid and Cammy was completely incapable of beating Vega.

I hate when fighting game developers do this. Change characters like Birdie or Mika who weren't liked or who have movesets that would guarantee they would be bottom tier. A lot of people loved Juri. She was hard to succeed with, but had a great moveset with her counter specials being the only weak point.
