Nintendo never said that Zelda will be the ONLY game receiving a NX version. NX is a new handheld with the power to play console quality games. Expect many more big cross platform releases from this point forward. There's a good reason Smash Bros 3DS happened.
The real reason that we haven't gotten many new Wii U announcements this year is because Nintendo wants to highlight the fact that this is something they are doing. The new Animal Crossing, Endless Ocean, and Retro's new IP (Alethea) will all be out next year for both Wii U and NX.

This is a meaningless assertion. Virtually all portables, outside of the original Gameboy, were roughly in line with the performance of the generation immediately preceding them.
The Wii U is roughly in line with an Xbox360 in terms of performance. It has a better GPU and more memory, but it's the same general ballpark. The Xbox360 came out in 2005. That's ~11 years ago.

The DS stumbled out of the gate and didn't sell particularly well at first, if you aren't too young to remember. It had a rocky launch , with the highlights of its launch library being a Mario 64 port and Feel the Magic. I didn't replace GBA, I've explained this twice already. GBA stayed on the market for several years after the Ds launched and kept getting games. It even got a brand-new revision, GB Micro, when DS launched. The DS "replaced" it later when the GBA stopped selling. Nintendo didn't lie about anything, both platforms co-existed for some time, which is exactly what they said they would do. Why would they keep making GBA games in 2006 onward when the DS took off and no one was buying GBA hardware anymore?
