I've played Pokemon games with mods that make things more interesting, with every trainer having not only more pokemon but having moves that cover their type weakness an it improved the games tenfold.

It's more about being a platformer with a fairly complex moveset and good level design that lets you experiment and discover new ways to shave off seconds. It was never about going insanely fast.

Starcraft 2. I don't think RTS's are bad at all, in fact I love 'em. I just can't play them.I actually have ADHD. I actually get migraines from trying to macro everything at once. I can't handle it at all, just one or two games mentally exhausts me even if I'm trying to play casual. Still it felt a bit stiff in how the platforming works and hitboxes were not that good (not the worst, but definitely nowhere near as perfect as it should be for the type of game, after missing a few obvious that I should have gotten a few times + aligned with all the problems I mentioned earlier, I just dropped the game). They do add new mechanics (Mega evo, abilities, held items, phys/special split, breeding, hidden abilities, natures, weather, terrain moves, trick room, triple battles, double battles, rotation battles, wonder launcher, battle royal).
