A legit tip is that there are some choices you can make with augmentation slots, and unless you really want a stealthy footsteps augment (which can be alright, I guess) then I would recommend taking the Speed Enhancement leg augment (which increases move speed and jump height and reduced fall damage, all of which is pretty useful) over Run Silent when you get the chance.
The tip is that if you want to go with Speed Enhancement (which I recommend doing) then the Microfibral Muscle arm augment ends up being kind of redundant and honestly not even all that useful in general, meanwhile the Combat Strength augment is useful for combat AND exploration when you find doors and other things that you can break with Combat Strength turned on.
It's a tip because augments are an either/or thing for each slot, and while you CAN change your mind and pick the other augment by finding another augment canister of the same type, it's kind of a pain in the ass so it's best if you pick something you like the first time around.

I can do the levels out of order and instead of the game acting like nothing was wrong a character might say "but you already did that". There are a lot of modern games that don't do this and it's actually really annoying.
Other than doing things out of order, for exampleif I kill the guard that comes up the stairs at the end of the first level Manderly will say he's missing and they've opened an investigation

It's a great game despite it's flaws and age.
The first few levels are fuck ugly and boring and really dissuade you from exploring further though. Get past them and its golden.

The exact opposite. Everyone calls you a pussy if you go non-lethal on the first mission.
Less of a pat on the back for doing good, more of a kick in the nuts for not doing good. Play the first level and don't complete the optional objective to save the UNATCO agent captured by the terrorists. See what happens.
Lots of main characters can die depending on your actions (some die if you don't take action), and the story does actually change depending on it. And I don't mean Push X to save, push Y to let die. You can murder main characters and the game just continues on like you had your reasons. You can kill some of the bosses before they become bosses that way.

It's old and hasn't aged very well. Many people make the mistake of thinking that it's a shooter with RPG elements when really, it's more of the other way around. Nonetheless, if you can get past the first few levels and its age, it's a great game.

I kinda hope Eidos remake DX1, keep the good things, make the bad things good and also improve some of the level design in places.

It's very simple script. If you leave through the window, Paul dies. If you leave through the front door, Paul will live. It doesn't really matter if you kill the guys inside or not. Wonder if it's ever going to be fixed.
