How do I get myself to to start chipping away at my endless backlog? I always feel like playing something but when I browse my collection I end up playing nothing. Same thing happens with Netflix.
What is this phenomenon.

its actually a common side effect. theres an overload of entertainment now especially with netflix where you only watch 15 minutes of anything at a time, i break out of it by watching a really good movie i havn't seen or an old one i havnt seen in awhile, netflix selection is pretty shitty also at this point ive seen everything on there i want to see so unless they come out with some new or aquire something new i dont scroll through it anymore

Post your backlog.

I'm new to PC gaming and I already got 74 games, playing little of a few. This doesn't count backlog goin back to the PS1 plus games I still haven't bought that I still wanna try.

I feel like sometimes you just gotta force yourself for at least an hour or two. That usually works but the next day I lose all motivation again. Been a while since a game hooked me.
That's how I feel about most single player games. Now a days, all I play is Overwatch and SFV

Why talk about 'backlogs' when deep down you have no actual inclination to play games?
I feel you OP. I've got so many games but all I could ever play is Dota 2. After >1600 hours I'm finally getting sick of this game and hopefully I'll be able to nail some of these other games I picked up over the years.
Just now I've been trying to decide if I should try to play Metro 2033, System Shock 2, System Shock, Thief, Hitman Blood Money, or Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

I wish I could even get into one game like that.

For me the opposite. I'm all about single player. Multiplayer is fun but it ultimately feels pointless.
