Environmental Station Alpha is okay, its like a metroid game where it doesn't hold your hand. The bosses are annoying and don't really match the game itself, and the art gets annoying after a while. I understand pixel shit is all the rage with indie devs, but when your character is literally 7 pixels, there is something wrong.
Doom is pretty good, probably one of the best shooters I've played in years. Multiplayer is meh.
Aquatic Adventure is fun, but it has issues like being too short, no good map feature, and the only real enemies are the bosses. I also stress that even though its short, half of that time is spent back tracking after you get upgrades to move on to another area.
But in the end your opinion is your own.

It's sort of like a tower defense-lite. The concept is you have 2-4 characters you send to rooms looking for an exit. Each room (normally) gives you a place for a new structure for mining resources or giving your characters buffs, but you can't keep every room "powered" and once a room is opened but unpowered, enemies spawn. And if you aren't careful, you get your shit kicked in pretty quickly. But these reources allow you to level up your characters, structures, all that good stuff.
The goal is to find the exit. Once you find it, you have to send somebody to pick up your crystal (the thing you are defending) and bring it to the exit without getting swarmed by a metric fuckton of enemies.
I don't know if I make it sound interesting, but honestly I really dig it. I like games that require a little micromanaging like that, but don't go insanely overboard.

Roguelike with tower defence. Every level you start in a room and have to open doors to find the elevator to the next floor while defending your power crystal in the starting room. Everytime you open a door monsters can spawn in rooms that aren't powered/don't have one of your heroes in it. You have resources to build stuff/power for the rooms to help fend off the monsters. Invisible Inc. is really solid. The main part is turn based stealth, sneaking around maps to accomplish objectives, which works way better than I ever thought it would. Even though nothing is actively rushing you, the game ends up creating incredibly tense moments. On top of that is another layer of strategy as you have limited time to collect agents, equipment, and upgrades to tackle a final mission which uses all of your skills. There's also an unlimited mode if you just want to see how far you can get.
Also the dlc is worth it , extends the length of the campaign and adds some nice new gameplay twists.

Factorio is autism squared. If you ever lost a lot of hours to Minecraft mods like Tekkit then you'll like it. Multiplayer's pretty good, though last time I picked it up there were a lot of desyncing errors, but that was months ago.
As for games with mature themes, a dude a few posts back brought up Wadjet Eye games, look up the Blackwell series. They're pretty well written, certainly they get better as the series goes on, in all aspects. About a woman who has to help ghosts to the afterlife, by figuring out how they died, etc, to help them come to terms with dying.
Deals with some fairly heavy themes, so should scratch that itch.

You stop caring about the graphics 30 minutes into the game. It also has a pretty decent DX11 mod (Gothic 2 that is, it's pretty bugged in Gothic 1). Depending on how pleb you are, the combat system might be a bigger challenge (I think it's great, however).
I haven't played Gothic 2 yet, but if it improves on the mechanics of Gothic 1 (more uses for some of the skills, etc.) and has a bigger/less sidetracky world, it'll probably be among my top 5 games ever.
