Has anyone had sound issues with Gauntlet: Dark Legacy? My friend I'm netplaying with gets headaches due to audio, though it's fine for him when playing single player. We got it mostly fixed, switching the backend to OpenAL, using LLE recompiler, and latency of 8. We have about 70 ping.

Depends what "This" is referring to.
I use HD3000, for KAR it runs at a constant 60 frames except for City trial in which it will sometimes drop to 72-80% game speed looking lengthwise on the map. But that aside, it runs great.

Freedom unite has better monsters IMO
And p3rd doesn't have G rank which is a big fuckin' problem since that's when monhun games get really good.
HOWEVER
Freedom unite has DOGSHIT hitboxes. The Plesioth hipcheck meme isn't so funny when the fucker hits you with it when you're 2 rolls away and in the other fucking direction. In general, FU's hitboxes are just absolute trash and I hate them. Also, handling your character feels way better in p3rd - all the weapons are way less clunky, the hunting horn is actually great and not a piece of shit joke weapon, etc.
Basically, p3rd feels WONDERFUL to play, but has very little content, and (in my opinion) inferior monsters.
FU has a great and very big cast of monsters, but most weapons feel like shit and the hitboxes for enemies are garbage.
I'd go for p3rd first, then grit my teeth and play FU for the content.
This is my 2nd outing into p3rd with my friends, I've already 100% it. We'll play FU next.
I sincerely wish I wasn't a poor eurocuck so I could play Generations on 3ds.

You used to have to do all kinds of stupid shit to get it to work but now all you need to do is set up the native netplay and forward your ports for hosting. Or if you're a lazy shit you can just use hamachi to skip the portforwarding, which is what we're doing. It has some strange glitches, though - in my group of 3 friends, quests don't work unless i'm the one you picks it up initially. You need to iron out those kinks when you start, but when you know the exact steps to take it runs rock fucking solid. We play at like 150~ ping and it's never desynced or even felt laggy. In fact, one of us keeps fucking unthrottling his emulator to run around faster and it doesn't impact the game at all - no desync, no nothing.

Now I'm trying to get monster hunter to work multiplayer on ppsspp. It has all the adhoc shit built in and for a few minutes I could join multiplayer roomswith people in themwithout using tunngle but now for some reason it says all the rooms are full. And I know goddamn well every single room isn't full.

A lot of the guides are outdated for that shit.
You shouldn't need to do anything but enable the adhoc server (if you're hosting) and put the correct IP in. There was also some edge case with win10 that caused a bunch of problems but I can't remember what it was because my friend had it not me.

I mean I know I can get a tunngle server to work, but it just frustrates me that it let me join rooms without it and then just randomly decide that it won't let me do it anymore. Like I have any fucking friends to necessitate tunngle.

I don't think you understood. You don't need tunngle if you aren't connecting to a tunngle host. There's an evolve community for it that has a host server up but if you want to play with your friends you can probably get it to work with your actual online IP.
